The price is good.

Just got the book. I rented it and it does come with an insert to activate the online curriculum for 2 years. It seems there is some sort of course code the professor will provide but I am in the CengageBrain system with 730 days of online access available.Follow up: I have been in my course for a couple weeks now. The code did work for class assignments! This is a tremendous deal even if just for the code alone. The professor sent a link to his online class and everything is working great.One classmate followed my recommendation and rented the book from Amazon. The code didn't work apparently but Amazon sent him a new updated book with working code. I have classmates who borrowed/bought used books from other sources but were screwed without the code. This rental is even a good option for them as it is so cheap to get the 2 year activation.I have to say too I really like the online format this company uses for the course. I am fairly new to web interactive homework. The immediate feedback is tremendously valuable. No more turning in homework and finding out a week later whether you were right or wrong on answers. The interface is a bit strange to get used to but not terribly complicated.

Looking for this book with an access code for under $80 is horrible. Then after buying a "new" book I am finally able to put in the code. BUT I LOOK IN THE BOOK AND IT HAS WRITING AND RIPS ALL INSIDE. NOT WORTH ITS PRICE AND SHOULD BE UNDER USED BOOKS INSTEAD OF NEW!!!!

Purchased this book for one of my online courses. I was under the impression that the book was new since it does not say other wise. The book I received has many pages with underlining through out the text. The book itself is in good condition and the online access worked.

Heavy but get what you paid for. It is not just a black and white textbook, there is color to it to make it more interesting. There is even a glossary, where do you see glossaries anymore in a textbook? I mean why would they take away glossaries when it benefited every reader!?! Give the editor props!
