I had no idea, despite the reviews, that I would be so completely bowled over by something as ridiculously simple as a mat to catch the flying debris of your average messy mog!Now, my cat doesn't use litter, he goes outside. I'm thankful for that because judging by his eating and drinking habits I think I'd have the messiest floor known to man if we added litter to the mix.Unfortunately the cat has to have his food and drink on our upstairs landing due to a dog thief. It's meant that, no matter what I've done to try to prevent bits of cat biscuits, cat meat and water getting into the carpet, I've failed to contain it. Cat biscuits rolled off all mats or got eaten over the carpet (cheers cat), only to then get kicked or walked into the bedrooms or bathroom, and my carpet needed cleaning frequently thanks to the cat lifting cat food onto the carpet to eat it. I cannot tell you how unpleasant it is to have cat biscuits stuck to your foot after getting out of the bath. Unless like me you own a messy cat!I've not quite solved the water bowl getting kicked and spilled but I've solved all other cat mess issues, and spilled water is now contained too. This mat is brilliant! When I saw this listing I thought it might just do the job I had in mind because it's designed to catch bits of litter. Why not dry biscuits too? And other cat food whilst we're at it?!Okay, when you first get it out of the packaging it looks a lot like the corrugated bumpy cardboard sheets that you find between the layers of egg boxes at the supermarket. The material it's made from is a black spongy moulded substance. The mat neatly gatefolds so you can open it up to full size or fold it in to the size you need. Fully open it covers a really good sized area, big enough to hold a few bowls with too big a distance for the cat to lift the food off the mat onto the floor.Any food debris drops into the dimple dips and doesn't roll anywhere. Likewise, water stands in the dips. The whole mat can be picked up, looser contents tipped off, then cleaned under the tap. The fact that the mat folds makes cleaning easier, as you aren't wrestling with a big mat under the tap. Very easy clean.For me this mat has been worth every penny. At last, I'm not finding cat food on my floor and the water spills are contained.So, if your cat is a messy eater, here is your solution! It's not just good for litter.

Very pleased with my delivery of the cat litter mat and so is my cat ! It is well made and good quality and value for money. It will be easy to clean and keep tidy. Being able to fold the mat up is also useful.

I thout this is from rubber so i can wipe it as my cat has a white litter but this is some sort of foam so white marks will stay all over it but must say that looks very good. Once you buy it make sure you unpack it and leave it to rest for a few days as the smell of plastic is very strong.

The cat mat is so big you can if you wish cut it in half. The mat itself is quite flimsy so had to purchase another cat mat that was much more sturdier and caught the cat litter wood pellets much much better. You could cut in half and double up as one mat to make much stronger and this would help with the strength issue. However In the end I used this mat for an entirely different purpose!!

Whilst I was impressed with the appearance of the mat and the fact that it is easy to clean, it only slightly prevented the cat litter from being carried to other areas, which I found disappointing. It is probably best suited to gravel type cat litter as opposed to the one I use, which is recycled paper pellets. Sadly it does not seem to contain this type of cat litter very well. The product is extremely well made and is easy to fold so that the collected cat litter can be contained and poured into a bin liner.

I have 4 cats so after trying different litters to no help in stopping the trail that’s left after them using the litter tray. I thought I’d give this a go and it’s AMAZING, instead of sweeping or vacuuming several times a day I have noticed that after 3 days there was only 3 tiny pieces and the mat actually catches any excess and is easily picked up with the litter on and tipped back in the tray. I am now no longer fighting to keep up with the litter trail.

I love this mat! We have had various issues with other litter tray mats - some are extremely hard to clean, and for some reason one of my cats views others as an extension of the litter tray itself and pees on them. However, this one has been a huge success on every level - the cats seem to like the way it feels on their paws, and to clean it I simply wash it under the tap - and after a year it's still looking as good as new. I have now bought one for all three of our litter trays - can thoroughly recommend.

I bought 2 of these mats - one for each litter tray. They catch wood based litter much better than other mats I've tried and are very easy to clean, as the litter just shakes off. They can also be rinsed under the tap. The cats seem quite happy to walk on them and there is a lot less mess, so I'm happy and so are they. As another reviewer mentioned, they do have a smell when you take them out of the packaging, but this goes within a day.
