Just bought two more for my hunting partners since it’s so great
I’ve had my gator mate for more than 10 years. Holds an edge very nicely. I love the rubberized handle since I really put these knives to work. I fully field dress about an elk a year with a Gerber gator mate alone. It’s important to have a comfortable handle since skinning and piecing up an Elk takes a lot of work. In addition to not digging into your hand when you’re doing hard work with it, the rubberized handle and texture gives you a good grip even when wet. It’s a great hunting knife and easy to put in your pants pocket or a jacket pocket without weighing you down.Just bought the full-size gator with the clip point A couple months ago It’s awesome also. Did a great job on this year’s elk. They are both fantastic knives. My recommendation is the gator mate with the clip point is small enough to put in your blue jeans pocket. The full-size gator is a bit meatier and you’d probably want to carry it in your jacket pocket or pack. If you have small hands go for the gator mate. If you like a bigger knife go with the full-size gator. I like the clip point for being able to pierce the hide easily. Has plenty of curve still for skinning.I’m so impressed with these knives that I bought two more so my hunting partners could each have one.

ottimo coltello

A new favorite EDC knife.
Made in AmericaLight, easy to carry in pocket or in the included belt sheath.Comfortable handle material of decent length & girth. I have medium size hands and can get all four fingers around the handle.Stainless blade that isn't too difficult too keep sharpened. It came pretty sharp but I touched it up on a ceramic stick and it will shave arm hair.Practical blade length and edge for most everyday tasks.Clip point blade design has a useful needle point.Great lockup in open position with a solid "Click" sound. Lock is strong. It won't accidentally close on your fingers.Easy to open & close.Cons: It's a two handed opening knife. That's a "con" for some. It has a 'stop' at the 90 degree position, so it is a two stage operation for opening and closing, requiring both hands. I don't mind since I like it, otherwise.A quality knife at a bargain price.Fast shipping by Amazon.I have lots of knives and they all have their place but I find, like many, you won't carry one if it is too long or too heavy. If the knife is light and discreet your much more likely to carry it. The Gerber Gatormate is right at the top of that class.
