Not great in 2025 but acceptable for some uses
Purchased this expecting to run into some issues granted the woefully obsolete Android 7 operating system on this phone. If purchased you should first make sure that any android apps you plan for it to run are compatible with Android 7. Grandstream never provided an update path to newer versions and the OS on this is too highly specialized to install a generic Android build, likely wouldn’t run at all due to hardware compatibility issues. I would recommend NEVER inputting or storing sensitive data on this as it’s been years since any security updates have been made for Android 7. Google dropped official support for Android 7 in 2019. The outdated software aside the phone does function well. The screen resolution and viewing angles aren’t great but it’s good enough. As is typical of Grandstream, the quality is fantastic. Performance wise it’s a little on the slow side but loads apps in acceptable time. The hardware can handle a 1080p YouTube stream with no problems but higher resolutions cause glitching during playback. I can’t rightly provide a low star rating because I’m purchasing a 9 year old tech product. Of course it’s outdated. I’m rating it a 5 for its quality and the fact that it was the pinnacle of IP phones when released in 2016

Really Nice Affordable Android Desktop Phone, Can Run Play Store!
This phone properly takes google voice calls when you upgrade to the latest firmware and install the necessary apps! Go to firmware.grandstream.com and download the latest firmware. Go the the phone's web interface, and upload the firmware to the phone. Install the Play Store app from the GS Market. Then, in the play store, install the Google app, and the Google Voice app.If you use a USB security key, it will work! So, you can use two-factor authentication. I haven't tested the Bluetooth security key. This version runs Android 7, has 2 GB RAM and 3 GB FLASH storage and a quad 1.3 GHz Arm processor. So, it's sort of a low-end Android tablet with a daylight-readable screen, a loud speaker and microphone, video camera, and handset. It has an HDMI output, which I haven't tested yet, so might work for conferencing with larger screens. It takes SD cards and USB sticks for additional storage. It has a 1/8 inch headphone jack that might work with headsets. It also has a modular connector for the other sort of headset. It has a network output to connect your desktop computer.

One Of The Best 3-Party SIP Phones Available
To save money, I recently decided to re-evaluate my telephone services. I had a work cell phone I wanted to ring at my desk at home and on a soft phone app when I'm not working at home. This is where/why I purchased this phone. It supports SIP protocol, this protocol is becoming the industry standard protocol for VOIP / IP telephony. It has a colorful, user-friendly web interface for configuring the phone using your VOIP provider's specifics. Furthermore, it has the latest Android operating system. I am able to download apps from stores and do a lot more than just answer calls with this phone - and it works lightning fast!Grandstream also has a soft phone app. Using the same configuration specifics, I was able to program both this phone and the app. Now, by both the desk phone and the soft phone app ring pretty much like having 1 or more extensions in your house on the old number-switch network ... but with all the advances WiFi / Cell services offer.

Great Phone
I like gadgets so i bought a polycom and also this grandstream phone. I ended up connecting the polycom to google voice with the free number and then i installed google voice on the grand stream phone also so when a call comes in it rings on both. This is a nice phone and i am able to use is as a semi tablet. Some of the newer apps wont work but its ok. Made well also.

Awesome Phone
Just purchased this phone and it is amazing. The sound and video quality is great and setup is not bad at all. It took me about a minute to transfer all of my contacts from my cell phone to the Grandstream. You wont find a better phone for the money.
