Very Good Security Light/Camera
I researched a bunch of security lights with cameras. I chose this one because of the ability to add an SD card and to not have to sign up for a monthly service. Installation was fairly easy, I had to run new electric since I did not have a light over my garage. Attached the light to the house downloaded the app, and then connected it to 110V power. I launched the app and walked through the steps which were very easy and it was all synced to my phone.Likes: It is nice that I can turn on and off the light from my phone. The light is plenty bright enough for security and lights up the whole area when you arrive after dark. You can and must set it to do what you want, by default it is just a camera and light. You have to add an action to have it capture video when motion is detected which is not difficult to do in the APP. It does record sound as well as video when it detects motion. I like the fact that it has the siren, not sure how often I will use it but it works and not as loud as I expected but load enough it would scare someone away if you turned it on and they were not expecting it. You can talk through the device which I have tried but again not sure how much I will use it, it works well enough to talk and hear. Once you install this with the SD card you should never have to access the card again.Dislikes: The light motion and camera motion is very sensitive. The only way to adjust when the light is triggered is by moving the unit camera and light up and down or left and right. It is not clear in the app distances that the light will trigger all it has is 3 zones so it takes some adjusting (still not complete yet) so it doesn't turn the light on when cars drive by. The camera motion zones that are configurable are not very accurate. I set the zone to end short of the sidewalk at the end of the driveway but it still sees motion when a car drives by and captures video. This is not a huge issue just something to note and I guess more is better than less in this case so nothing gets missed. There is no way that I can find to see how much capacity is left on the card, even though it is supposed to overwrite as needed it would be nice to know how is being used.Overall: I really like the camera it has met all my expectations. Easy to install, easy to setup and has been worry free since. It sends an alert to the APP (which is configurable can be on or off) when there is motion and can be checked from wherever you are. I’m sure this will us data on your mobile phone. 4 Stars because of the over sensitivity of the settings and the zone configuration not that accurate.

Great but one HUGE flaw!
I really like this product except for one thing that is a big deal to me. I've purchased two of them and mounted one vertically and one horizontally. In both installations the range of motion for the camera placement is very limited. One example I've posted a pic from the camera angle at a back door and it is directly above the door about 10 feet high. As you can see the angle will not allow you to point the camera straight down. So there is about 2+ feet in front of door that is not viewable at all. This really defeats the purpose. The only way I know someone was at the back door when I looked at the recorded video is because you can see the top of the door open and thats it. You don't see who is coming in.If they can fix this then I would buy more of these because I love all the built in features.

Yes, you can use this without a subscription cloud service
First things first. YES, you can use this without a subscription to their cloud service. It’s not nearly as elegant without the cloud service but it does work. I’ve had this camera/light for a few weeks now and thought I would address some of the questions I had when I was looking through all the reviews of various products. The entire unit is well built. It doesn’t feel like cheap plastic and actually has some weight to it. None of these things will ever last 20 years but this one seems better than a lot of the setups I’ve looked at at the big box stores. The packaging is good and the documentation is better than what I was expecting. You can actually use a QR reader on your smartphone camera to download their app and I had this setup working on my network in about 5 minutes after turning the breaker on when I finished the installation. I was impressed. This camera light combo is pretty easy to install. It’s a standard 3 wire system that will connect easily if you are replacing an old light. The camera runs on the same power so there is no additional wiring. The only hiccup in the installation is that there is a small screw on the very top that you have to put in after the actual light is secured to the mounting plate (base that bolts to the junction box). It can be tricky to get that little screw set but with some patience it goes in fine.I’ve seen several reviews saying the camera doesn’t respond, won’t stay connected, or that the app is just garbage. More likely that not, those people have set up the camera too far away from their wireless router. I had a problem with slow response early on and thought it couldn’t be my router because I could get online with my phone no problem. But the light is about 15’ in the air above my garage. As soon as I moved my router closer, all of those issues vanished. The camera has been flawless for several weeks now. After getting everything connected and testing the lights with the motion sensor, I noticed how ridiculously bright the lights are. Seriously, you could land aircraft with these lights. So bright, in fact, that I was worried about blinding my neighbors as they were driving by. Luckily, these are LED lights and you can adjust the brightness through the app. And once adjusted, they return to that setting when they are triggered. Very nice detail to this setup. You get their cloud service free for a month and it’s fine but I’m not going to subscribe to it after the 30 days. I’ll just use the micro SD card and let it overwrite on a loop. A 64GB card will offer several months of record time before it overwrites which is more than enough for my needs. If I ever do have a need, I’ll just pull the card and give it to the police. The app isn’t amazing but it’s not bad at all. It is about as good as what DLink offers (yeah, not amazing, not terrible) and honestly, the app does exactly what it’s supposed to do. No complaints at this price. If you want a better app, spend some more money on a NEST setup. If you want to save money, this will certainly work, and work well. As for the hardware, you’re not going to get any more quality for more money.Hope this rambling review helps answer some questions.

Good quality camera, but motion detection has too many false alarms plus using SD card is unusable
I have a Maximus/Kuna security light also so just doing a point of comparison here. Positives: Great light, but this is a flood light vs. the porch light so not a great comparison. Setup was pretty easy for both. Physically and with the apps. Another positive for Momentum is better night vision and quality of camera.Main issue I have is that the lights take some serious motion for them to trigger and turn on at night. I've adjusted the sensitivity to the highest level on the app and no significant change to the lights. The camera also does not record anymore. I've restarted so many times its not funny. Day or night, no activity reports anymore.Ironically, I get alerts for the camera all of the time as the motion detection at the highest level is super sensitive even if you narrow the zones. This momentum camera has 3 settings. One for the camera, one for the lights, one for the siren (unused) and I guess a fourth for sound. But, I just get motion detection alerts so not sure if the sound is triggering it at all. Again, I've moved the sensitivities up and down without any significant change. The Maximus/Kuna has 10x less false alarms.Update (Sept 3, 2018) - Also tried to switch to use the SD card instead of cloud service when free period was over and it is a pain to get the SD card to work. It is a nice option, but Momentum does not make it easy to use the SD card. I never got the card to work.Update (Jan 2019) - Card suddenly is recognized by the system. Not sure what happened other than a software update which I told IT about but they were having none of it.Save your money and go with someone else. I waste time and money here.

90/100
I have other momentum cameras and this one works about the same as the rest. Overall it gets the job done, but it’s no ring. It is glitchy at times, and takes some fine tuning but overall gets the job done.

Initially a little temperamental..but overall very good Product
The Momentum Aria Smart Spotlight Cam is overall a good product and goo value for the price. It is very temperamental setting up and the documentation is limited. If you are a little tech savvy, you can work through the issues and once you have it running, it is fairly easy to use. A 2 or 3 page tutorial on how to set it up and use it would be VERY helpful as the camera has difficulty connecting to Wi Fi the first time. Also, the menus inside the app, although capable need some explaining.Bottom line, a good value, needs a little refining. It is working for us.

Inferior Product
I purchased this camera from Momentum Aria and it was nothing but trouble from the beginning. To start with, the app did not work and would not allow me to pair the device. You could not scroll down during the process to advance to the next page. I contacted the manufacturer and they blamed it on a Google update. Funny how that Google update didn't affect the other millions of apps out there. They kept saying a new version would be out any day to correct things but that didn't happen for over three weeks which left me only a couple of days left to determine whether this camera would be worth keeping before my time limit expired to return it to Amazon. So finally they update the app and I'm able to get the device set up. Now it all fairness, it was very easy to install, the software install went easily as well, and I was impressed with the quality of picture. The first few recorded events went well and three hours in, I'm impressed and glad I made the purchase. However, then two problems occurred. First of all, the recorded events stopped playing back. Then the thing started endless notifications. I mean there was a notification EVERY minute. I tried every sensitivity setting on the device, including lowest sensitivity and nothing changed. My phone dinged EVERY minute. Each time the app specified there was a new recording but none of the recordings would play. All I got on the screen was a picture of the Momentum logo with a circle going around it like it was loading the video but it would never load.I contacted customer support and they told me a procedure to try but it didn't work. Then I saw on the app where you could reset the device so I tried that. After that, then a few of the videos started to playback again but the majority of them would not. Since I only had a day or two left to return the camera to Amazon, all this made my decision easy. So the camera is on the way back.Of course the reason I purchased this to begin with is because like so many others, I think Ring's products are over priced. I have a Freecam L800E that I purchased from Amazon that works well and I wanted to add a second camera so I decided to try this one to compare to the Freecam. Needless to say, it doesn't stack up so I returned this one and purchased me a second Freecam.

Overall Great Design
Installing the Floodlight was very easy, all the required parts are included with the installation kit. Getting the flood light operational was just as easy, from loading the Momentum App on my phone to pairing the device - I had no problems. Every feature such as live streaming, automatic capture, flood light, siren, and two-way audio functions works as describedI like being able to select Motion Zones by choosing individual areas of a grid vs. drawing a "box" around the Zone as I have to do with my Nest camera.I would like to comment on how bright the light is, very impressive! The floodlight is much brighter than the Par 38 system of lights I had previously installed. I also like the dimmer function.I also like the SD card recording feature. I’m not forced to buy a subscription like I’m forced to do with other products. Once the trial membership is expired I will exercise this feature.Lastly, I like the sleeker profile of the entire unit.
