Equal to or better than any coffee I have tasted in my long life. (Note that I am quite particulaar.)I roasted it in a cast iron pot to medium dark, ground it with a ceramic hand mill. heated it just to boiling in an ordinary sauce pan and let it stand 7 minutes, then strained it through a stainless steel tea infuser.I would. not roast it any darker.The most interesting and pleasant surprise from this coffee was the wonderful citrus note (usually when someone mentions citrus notes about coffee or beer they mean it will taste like that cheap canned grapefruit juice and have a lingering sour aftertaste: not the case here.)

Flavor of the beans depends on the Roaster more than the origin... for 95 % of the coffee drinking population. The beans are a good size, I'm experienced at roasting, have my method perfected. I like my Nicaraqua beans a little better, but the coffee taste from these Malawi beans is very good as well... a little less chocolate taste. I roast to a light roast. I also roasted a small quantity to a med-dark roast for comparison... taste is good also.. for those preferring a darker roast.I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again... the Value for the money isn't there.. it wasn't expensive, but also not a bargain.

These beans are the 6th batch of green beans I've purchased and are by far the most uniquely flavored. I get much less of a cocoa/nutty flavor and much more of a zesty/fruity flavor than I am used to. I tend to prefer Central and South American coffees but these Malawi beans are a very interesting change of pace. The coffee pairs really well with a parfait!

Thanks to Amazon, we have had various green coffee beans shipped to our door from all over the world. No two are alike, and all have been delightful. These beans are the largest we have seen so far, and take a while to attain second crack. Be careful not to over roast them.

These are some really good beans and great price. The only reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because the bag this was shipped in came ripped and about 1/3 of its contents had spilled inside the envelope (see attached pictures). And since I don't think that bubbler envelopes are food safe I ended up throwing the spilled beans away.

I'm a novice roaster but I do OK. This coffee is good for sure, it just lacks any special characteristic. I'd recommend doing a city+ blend to give it something extra. Roast a small batch a little dark and a batch a little lighter and mix them.
