Critically hailed as the "planet's coolest TV drama" (The Times) Mad Men, winner of three consecutive Golden Globes, two BAFTAs and back-to-back Emmy awards for Outstanding Drama Series as well as a grand total of fifteen Emmys, is a darkly humorous look at the incredible advertising minds dictating the American Dream in the 50s and 60s. Hard drinking, chain smoking, over-sexed and smoulderingly stylish, Don Draper (Jon Hamm) and the Madison Avenue pioneers sell an ideal they are struggling to achieve in their own lives. Mad Men is a sexy, stylish and shocking portrait of a time that was anything but innocent. Nothing is as sexy. Nothing is as provocative. Nothing is as it seems. Now, the cast continue to captivate as they grapple with an uncertain new reality. Relationships are redefined and people are forced to face themselves and the world around them in new ways. Mad Men continues to question the traditional norms and the simmering social frustrations between women and men in the 1960s with compelling storylines and resonant moments that are sure to enthral fans of the show, both new and old. Starring Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, Kiernan Shipka , Jessica Paré, John Slattery, James Wolk and Linda Cardellini, Mad Men is the ground-breaking series that critics are calling one of TV's best ever dramas. Contains all 78 episodes from season one to the much anticipated sixth and penultimate season with hours of extras.

What a brilliant series!
What can I say about Mad Men that has not been said before? I don't have Sky so had not seen it. Was advised by a friend and bought series 1 to try it out. Needless to say, I was hooked. I then bought series 2-6 and watched them back to back, taking no telephone calls and only loo, food and drink breaks for several days until I had watched the lot (and had square eyes). Series 7 part 1 also purchased and watched and have just pre-orded series 7 part 2 and have to wait until October.

So stylish and has real depth too
Undoubtedly one of the best programmes I have seen - didn't want it to end. Could relate to this so much more now that I am a bit older (used to watch it on and off in my early 20s). Love the style and fashion, but also a great eye opener into the attitudes of the era (e.g. race, gender etc). Has a fantastic balance of comedy (anything with Roger Sterling always has me chuckling) and seriousness. I can imagine I will watch this again in years to come.

JUNK
(Appalling sound quality, and picture problems). Unfortunately I bought this expensive box set in November 2015 , I did not get round to watching it until now, it is so bad that I have given up, absolute rubbish quality and it's too late for refund . Furious !!!!

Fingers crossed
Mad men is a good TV show inching towards great it's wonderfully crafted and fully realised it's time period of which the show is set. The performances are great just a couple of weak ones, it's well written and directed. It's just missing it's it factor to truly make it a masterpiece other then that if you want a great character study set in one of the most sexiest and coolest times ever. This is one show that will make you want to smoke because Jon Hamm makes it look so suave and elegant. BTW on season 3 so the show could become a masterpiece as there are another 4 to go hopefully it gets better and not worse like every other TV show usually does

Visual Literature
I am well behind the rest of the world on this, but having just last night finished viewing the first series felt I had to say how knocked out I was and how compelled to continue with this; what amounts to visual literature.
