Us Festival: 1982 The Us Generation

Good but not complete.
Disappointed that There was no mention of the Kinks. The highlight of the weekend. Also the technology tent was lacking, never even saw Emmett Chapman; a great part of that experience.

Educating, especially if you were there.
It was interesting to learn how it was put together. Would have liked to see much more music.

Could Have Been Much Better
I knew going in that this DVD was a "Behind-The-Scenes" type documentary, but I didn't realize that it's about 90% doc and 10% clips of the participating artists. Several of the clips have interviews during the performance, which is always annoying. I counted only seven music clips that are shown in their entirety, way too few for a 3-Day concert. The Talking Heads are listed on the DVD cover, but only 15 seconds of them are shown, as is the case with several other unlisted bands. Until someone comes out with a performances-only DVD, I'd advise you to skip this one, unless you attended the concert and want to relive the experience. BTW - the Trailer for this DVD showed some different music clips by the same artists (plus the Talking Heads) featured on the disk . These are NOT included on the DVD I purchased. Very misleading.

history
some people complain about lack of concert footage. I think it was amazing how the story was told. brought back a lot of memories. The b 52s, the cars, etc. totally awesome. I have seen most of the bands in concert. it is a good retrospect to hear a narration. well worth it!!!

Great, but want more!
This was an awesome peek at the US Festival. Recommend this to anyone looking to watch some great performances.Only complaint is I wish they would show more concert footage. Somewhere in The Woz's vault there is every performance from 2 years of US Festival sitting there waiting to shown to the world. Release the tapes, Woz! =)

More documentary than concert
I bought this thinking it was more of a concert, than a documentary. That being said, it is an interesting documentary. The US Festival didn't make my radar best I can remember back in 1982. It was a bigger world back then.

Joke dvd don’t waste your money there are only a few songs
This was the worst dvd ever false advertising for sure it’s not full concert footage from any band just a few select songs from a very bands one song per band and not many at that joke the people behind should be sued total ripoff cmon amazon your better than this

Greatest concert of the 80's
The real concert was the greatest concert that I ever went to. Nice to have this to help remember all the fun.

Fantastic!
Great look behind the scenes of an incredible event - a lot of interviews and clips of performances but only a handful of full performances by the bands - one of which was The Cars “Bye Bye Love” which is what I was interested in seeing so it was great that the full performance happened to be on it - but overall I really enjoyed the whole DVD, quite interesting and entertaining!

No lo compren
No me gustó el dvd, ya que es una serie de entrevistas con las bandas participantes y organizadores, solo contiene una pieza completa de Fleetwood mac, pensé era un documental con piezas de las bandas, me decepcionó
