Citizen Watches Men's JY8078-52L Promaster Skyhawk A-T

It has taken me several weeks to search for a Christmas gift for myself which should be elegant and have many functions other than reading time and date. This JY8078-52L 2018 model of Promaster Skyhawk A-T is my final choice and is a fantastic invention, these are my opinion after using it for about two weeks:Pros: 1) beautiful design with real dark blue dial and yellow accent (don't be fooled by the yellowish product photo under the list); 2) best quality of materials of silver tone shining stainless steel and sapphire crystal (be noticed that the most of other similar models are equipped with only mineral crystal); 3) other than keeping time and date, it has numerous functions such as calendar, world time, second time zone, timer, alarm, chronograph and many calculation functions for pilot to learn; 4) Very accurate time with the atomic radio controlled 3 times daily; 5) Eco-drive which almost never needs the battery changing; 6) The hands and hour numbers will be luminous for the whole night! That's very useful function for the trip and everyday life; 7) Very competitive price with the similar ranked brands.Cons: Although I really don't think it has any cons, but I think the layout of the dial would be much better if it replaces the UTC and 24 hours sub dials with days of week and months of the year, because UTC and 24 hours are NOT useful for the normal people, who cares? The final words: currently there are so many "smart" watches, but they are really smart by themselves, they will not make you smart; this watch is different: it has so many potential functions which encourage you to read, think, and calculate every moment when you see it. It just likes a brain trainer companion with you everyday.

Beautiful watch - easy set up, and it was nearly fully charged out of the box.I like that I can check for atomic syncing at any time I wish, or just let the watch do everything automatically. And no more major programming efforts city by city when daylight savings begins or ends!All the listed features work as advertised. The manual is online, and watch warranty registration is by app. The app needs a bit of work, but in the end just make sure to keep evidence of purchase if you do need warranty service.I found it by accident, but if you search for ‘Citizen U680’ (U680 being the movement designation of this watch) both the full and an abbreviated (4 page) manual will pop up next to each other in the results. Save both to your Reading List or Bookmarks, and you can play with the various settings and features during down times. Not too complex at all - just appears that way at first. Very highly recommended!I tried to adjust the band using the old-faithful paper clip as I’ve done in the past with previous watches, but I couldn’t get the pin(s) to budge. So I went to a watch repair place in the mall and they took care of it quickly. Cost $20, but it was done correctly and saved the cost of buying a kit or whatever.Oh - one last thing. The watch comes in a black hard plastic small ‘crate’ that is itself inside a thin box. The ‘crate’ is more than decoration - it was necessary!! The seller used a floppy padded envelope to ship! I would have appreciated the watch box itself being placed inside ANOTHER box for shipment.

Great looking and functioning watch. Takes a while to set it up.

Para este modelo especial de reloj, me llego en una caja de cartón simple, no llegó en el estuche como se anuncia en la publicación. Revise y tampoco venía la tarjeta de garantía. He visto que para este tipo de reloj tienen unos estuches muy hermosos, en eso me fallaron. Eso era un valor agregado al reloj. Estoy viendo como funciona el reloj y esperando a ver que no salga con alguna novedad. Tienen que ser más serios y ofrecer lo que anuncian en la publicación.NOTA: Quiero subir un par de fotos para corroborar lo que estoy diciendo y no puedo, que pésimo.

This watch is amazing! Have gotten lots of compliments on it . Has a rugged aviator look to it without being too heavy. It keeps super accurate time it gets a radio signal from atomic time clock I think in Colorado not exactly sure . So it keeps accurate time the radio signal updates the watch automatically . Most of the features I don’t use but it like the fact it’s a analog digital combo . I also like the fact it’s solar powered hate changing batteries in watches it’s one less thing I have to worry about. The capacitor in the watch stores the solar energy it receives from light sources when you wear it . Any light powers this watch whether it’s artificial or sunlight . Stores it so when it doesn’t get light it still operates. I have three citizen watches so far love them all plan to get more as more styles are manufactured. I used to wear invicta watches but citizen watches blow those out of the water with style and reliability.

Extremely disappointed with the box, I was expecting the robust Citzen box, but the store sent the watch in this very poor quality, damaged paper box. No instruction manual from Citzen, and from what I saw the warranty is by the store itself.

This is a fantastic watch! I have always wanted one and I am so glad I purchased it. I never take it off. It is so beautiful!

Me encanto como luce se ve profesional, moderno y clásico a la vez, es increíble como al acribarlo se actualiza y configura hora y fecha en automático. La luminiscencia de noche es de las mejores que he visto.

El reloj me llegó en una caja de cartón súper corriente, no llegó en el estuche como se anuncia en la publicación. Tampoco venía la tarjeta de garantía. Lo revisé y al parecer el reloj llegó sin golpes o rayones pero lo estoy monitoreando para descartar ninguna falla técnica. Pero reitero, , por el momento mi gran inconformidad es que no llegó como se anuncia en la publicación.
