Wicked おいしい
This is some really great rice. I have had troubles finding a consistent brand here on Amazon. Over the years they keep getting sold out or no longer available... I've been through at least 8 kinds! I was a bit skeptical about getting a California seed, but the last three Japanese ones (also koshihikari) I've purchased weren't as good as my previous go-to, which was discontinued (and frankly waaasy expensive!).I am very, very impressed by this rice, and I think Japanese people would be also.

Very Special Rice
I love the flavor and consistency of the yummy rice. A short grain rice it is great for any Asian dishes, sushi and in Creole and Cajun recipes that call for broken or short grain rice. The company uses a milling process that allows the grains to polish each other without the use of water so it holds its flavor and cooks beautifully.

THIS Rice is Just Like RICE MADE IN JAPAN...LOVE IT!!!
I live in Japan and I came to the states and couldn't find any japanese rice similar to what i buy in Japan. I tried Kokubo Rice, Nishiki Rice and Botan Calrose rice and even Tamanishiki Rice. What I noticed it that the Kagayaki Rice is much more polished than all of the other rice. When I eat it, it's like I never left Japan. I do wish that it was on the Prime Membership for free shipping because I would have bought more than 2. However, it is cheaper that what i was doing before which was shipping rice from japan to my place in the states. That is how much I love Japanese rice. Hope this helps...Enjoy!!!

Perfect for rice cookers
This is the best rice, as it sticks together, but still retains moisture. Delicious with stir-fried dishes!

Buyer beware -- $7.43 for a pound of rice!
Asian supermarkets sell Kagayaki rice for about $30 for a 15 (FIFTEEN!) pound bag (that's $2 per lb) , the 50 lb bag is right around $80 or so ($1.60 per lb. . I was certain I am buying a 15 lb bag, but received the 4.4lb size instead. So I just paid more $7.40 per pound!!!! In what universe can this be justified?
