Pretty good paint.
Lovely paint to use, spreads easy, gives good coverage, my home looks spick and span, very pleased. Best price I could find, worth the delivery wait. I have used three tins so far to paint a lot of woodwork in a three bed house including doors, panelling on side of stairs and a small wardrobe. The drip you can see in the photo also cleaned up to invisible with a wet cloth and a scrub pretty easy. Edit, two years later this pair has not yellowed or faded at all.

Brilliant paint and definitely get again.
I wanted to repaint my cupboards as the previous chalk paint I had used left lots of marks. This went on really easy and dried so quickly. I was able to dona 2nd coat by the time I finished the last door. I added photo to show the colour. The paint on the side of the cupboard was the colour I painted over.

Not quite as good a finish as oil based, but the positives make up for it.
I consider myself a competent painter and have always done my own painting around the house. I used to use Johnstone's oil based satin, but recently decided to make the switch to water based. After some initial doubts, I am now converted! It is possible to get a decent finish, but it takes a bit more skill than using oil based paint. You need to work faster and work in smaller sections at a time. The paint dries fast and you need to lay it off much faster than you would with oil based. It takes a bit of practise, but eventually I was getting great results. Even the most skilled painter, with the best brushes, will still get some slight visible brush strokes. Its just the nature of the product and impossible to avoid. If you want ultra smooth finish then you'll need to stick with oil based. You also need to make sure you use a decent primer if you're going over the top of oil based. I used Zinsser Bullseye 1-2-3 and also spent the time to fully key the surface and remove all the glossy finish, down to a dull matt, with 180g sandpaper. Put in the extra time to prevent the paint chipping and peeling down the line.IMO the positives far outweigh the slightly visible brush strokes and more difficult application. Firstly you can wash brushes, spills and your hands with water! I used to hate having to clean up with white spirit every time. Secondly, your entire house doesn't stink of high voc paint for a week or two. This paint is also touch dry in less than an hour and isn't still tacky the next day like oil based. Finally, water based doesn't go yellow over time like oil based. I did all the woodwork last year and it's amazing how much it has yellowed in that time when I was using the new water based paint.

Great for radiators
As you can see used this on our radiators in the bathrooms which started to spot with rust. Used Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 after a mild sanding of the rust prior to painting. The paint has a thick consistency similar to an oil based gloss but remember it's water based and Satin.Found it quite difficult, due to the quick drying nature, to work the brush marks out. So found the best solution for me was to brush it on thick then go over with a foam roller to produce a fine stipple effect rather than smooth. We don't like the smooth bright white colour of enamel radiators as most of our walls are either matt or satin, so I was more than happy with the end result and would recommend to anyone else.

Finally a great alternative to gloss and stays white!
This is now the only paint I get for the doors and skirting boards, after the EU changed the law for gloss paint. All gloss I have used since the changes in the EU laws, have gone majorally yellow and horrible looking, especially the bathroom which has no natural sunlight. This water based satinwood however, has remained perfectly white all year! It does not need chemicals to clean either as its waterbased, so no more turps/white spirit to clean the brushes and if it gets on your clothes? Wash it before it dries, it comes right off! This is now the only one I trust as other brands were difficult to apply, while this was easy to apply and stays white!

One of the best..
I am in my 50's and enjoy doing a bit of DIY at home. After researching for a good paint for wood i settled on same paint but Dulux brand. Unfortunatley on the day of delivery got a message that it will be delayed for few days so cancelled and went for this one. I am sooooo overjoyed I did. First of all the packaging was excellent. It was all covered in thick sealed foil and in a box so any spillage will not damage the box or create a mess. Then i started painting with it...what a feel...It glides easily on the wood, no spillage. I have done all my skirting and about to do doors. You can get away with 1 coat but 2 coats would be ideal and more beautiful. I did 2 coats. Oh goodness I can't stop admiring how good the skirting looks. What i noticed is a little goes really far. I bought 3 of 1.25litres and I think it's too much but I will keep all what is left. I am definitely sold on this paint. I also think the brush you use makes a difference. I bought a good brush which has loads of good reviews on amazon.

Better than expected!
Bought this on recommendation from a professional painter and was surprised in how effective this paint was. As this is water based it can be used to paint over existing paint. My skirting and door frames look like new from the off yellow that they had become. Note that if you use a small roller you will get a professional even finish otherwise you will see paint brush strokes.I highly recommend this paint for wood in the house if you don't have the time to sand down everything.
