Glare from the side
These lights feel solid and heavy, and they are nice and bright, lighting up most of the underside of a 30 foot tall tree canopy. But there is harsh glare from the side since the housing doesn't have shields covering the sides. There is only a tiny lip at the top (it's so tiny, I'm not sure what purpose it serves). So I wouldn't recommend putting this close to a walkway. It would be good however further away in the back yard, or in between bushes that shield the glare. This light would be much better if it had glare shades like the ones on most other landscape lights.I wish the light was a little bit more yellowish. When I compared this side-by-side with my halogen landscape light, it appears cooler in color temperature (I'd guess around 4000K rather than 2700K of halogen). I also have a different brand of 2700K LED bulbs that I've been using in my standard light housings which have a more pleasant warmer color. When there is more blue tint, there is less visual color depth in the foliage because of the contrast. This comes with those cheap electrical quick-clips that poke into the existing wire insulation. I hate those, they should be banned. I discovered the hard way that they usually corrode in a few years and then the light stops working and you have to dig up the wires to solve the mystery. I soldered mine and slid some heat shrink tubing to cover the solder joint. You can also use waterproof underground electrical twisty nuts, which I highly recommend instead of the included quick connectors. Here are some photos of what the Paradise light looks like in action.

I was looking for a low voltage spot light that produced at least 500 lumens to light up a waterfall with. When I saw this product on the Vine program, I decided to order it. Here is what i found: 1. First, the picture of the light is incomplete. This light is actually on a stake that goes into the ground. What you are seeing in the picture is the top plate that stops the light from being inserted into the ground any lower than the spike. So,you are not seeing the spike, just the stop plate. 2. The spike and the pole coming down from the pivot joint on the light are made of plastic. It is well designed with the wiring for the light inside the pole. It exits at ground level through a slot that is just under the plate that you see in the picture. I should note that the pole and spike are two separate pieces that fit together tightly. The wire exits without any problems because even when the two pieces are joined into one, there remains a open slot for the wiring to exit through. 3. The connector that is provided is a vampire type that is designed for standard low voltage lighting cable. It goes together easily and makes a very solid connection. You may want to use some silicon around it to water proof it a bit, but I have had good luck with these types of connections with systems that have been in for several years. 4. The light fixture itself is all aluminum with a glass lens. There are two LED bulbs in this housing. 5. This fixture will work on both AC and DC so if you have an older AC timer, no worries. If you have one of the newer DC timers, also no worries. The spot is located about 25 feet away from my waterfall and it does a very nice job of illuminating it. I am very pleased with the product and would recommend it if you have a need for a spot light of this brightness.

Much wider lighted area than expected. More like a flood light than a dedicated spot.
We have an old house on a lot that was subdivided prior to modern zoning. As a result our back walkway is just inches from the lot line; the set back of the footprint of the house is only 6". the walk to the back door is a very dark cramped corner which has been hard to light effectively. I chose this light as a possible solution. My husband has extensive electrical skills so install was not an issue. The throw of light from this product was far wider than I had anticipated. Instead of the spot light I wanted , it illuminates a substantial arc of our lot and our neighbor's. I have a fence with privacy strips that stops some of the bleed over but it is pretty dramatic and not what I was looking for. I was going to put up some kind of light shield but the neighbors said they do not mind.I do finally have light in the dark corner which was a safety concern. For us this is more of a flood light than a spot. Works fine given that caveat.

Bright, extremely well made, commercial quality, and will last for years.11 watts, draws .93 amps.
This is a tank of a light. Glass lens, everything except the knob is heavy duty aluminum - and the knob is thick, heavy duty plastic. The head angle is adjustable and locked in place by matching teeth - not just friction. The low voltage connection is the typical clip-on style, but this one can also be removed and reused. It is designed for heavier cable - 12 ga. A smaller gauge cable would be difficult to use.I attached it to my test power supply and it drew .93 amps at 12V - that's 11 watts, just as advertised. The dual LED's are bright and can be used for security or general lighting.Mounting is designed to be via the included spike. If you need to mount it differently, you'd have to drill a hole to drop the pole into. The disc base shown in the photo is part of the spike, not the pole. From the light head to the pole base is 5.25". The spike is 6.2".The light is extremely well made, commercial quality, and will last for years.

Very large and bright light; easy installation, gorgeous for landscaping!
This light is much larger than I expected, and really, really bright. It is perfect for the front of our house where the landscaping is professionally done. Against the brick facade, it's just gorgeous and makes it really nice during the night time.Installation was easy enough, and this light is so sturdy that I see it lasting a very, very long time. Highly recommend this light!
