German Army Surplus Shirt - Grade 1

I was a little concerned that this shirt might have turned out to be a cheaper imitation of this Classic Shirt. However, I need not have worried as it is definitely an original German Army surplus shirt. What sets this shirt apart from others, is it's sheer quality. In comparison to other 'army surplus' shirts, (which feel they have been made out of canvas), these shirts are made of beautifully soft cotton and are extremely comfortable to wear. They are warm in Winter and cool and breathable in Summer. The material is extremely strong and so is the stitching, button holes, button stitching etc. They ooze quality with the added bonus that they fit great, they look very smart and they will last for years. You will not find a better work shirt than these. Its a pity they do not make an off-the-peg short-sleeved version of this shirt for Summer use, but what I have done previously is have a Seamstress cut the arms off the log sleeved version and stitch them up into short sleeved shirts. A few pounds for each shirt but well worth the expenditure, as they look great. Trust me, you will not find a better work shirt than these. End of!!!

It's a good shirt but button threads are kind of frayed/loose and unsightly, small defect maybe but it does look unsightly.Washes and dries great though and the threads could probably be sorted with scissors, I'm just not wanting to in case it loosens the buttons.

I bought the shirt just for casual wear, I served with the Bundeswehr while in Holland and I knew just how practical and hardwearing their uniforms are, its excellent value, its not new but I know it will give me years of wear, I love it. also fast delivery.

Fits just about right, although I'm not a big medium. Shirt has a lot of polyester in it but it's a material that's hard wearing and doesn't, need as much ironing as cotton which is probably why. It's a pratical shirt. I'd hoped it might fade and look distressed with age but I don't think it will. That's not a fault of the shirt, just my own expectations. Well made. Good value

Nice shirt apart from it's made by Jeans Express. Not exactly a genuine German made item. And the label states 1992 and that's not the 80s as described.

I couldn't find a camouflage pattern long sleeved conventional shirt so I chose this dark green one instead. OK if you don't mind the small German flag epaulettes.Well made of good quality material. Value for money but of course, we all like getting things as cheap as possible.

I am very pleased with this shirt. The finish looks good and fitting is spot on. I ordered a medium and I'm average medium in size. Overall very happy with purchase.

These shirts are iconic. I have wanted one for years so I was pleased when I eventually acted in getting a couple. The quality is really good as you would expect from genuine military clothes. Weighing in at 16 stone, I plonked for a L in size and it is a little snug but I am overweight and when I lose a half a stone it will fit like a glove.
