Linen and Cotton : Classic Sewing Techniques for Great Results (Focus on Fabric)

The book was everything it said it was about and I learned some things from it. Well worth it!

I happen to really like using cotton and linen to make clothing. I wasn't sure how to use cotton to make beautiful clothing until reading the author's tips and seeing the beautiful examples made from cotton. linen and cotton are two fabrics that are fairly readily available to today's home sewer, so it's nice to see that they can be used so effectively. I doubt there's another book out there with this information, especially regarding the use of cotton to make beautiful dresses, skirts and jackets.

Great book. I have had problems with sewing different fabrics and to get a good fit. This is not a fitting book, but the little tips for sewing cotten and linen have helped in perfecting the finished product. I don't know about you, but if I am putting in the effort to sew my own clothing I want it to look good, as if a professional tailor had constructed the garmet, just for me - and they do now!

If you love cotton and linen as much as I do, you will find this book an excellent addition to your sewing library.

While the pictures are dated, the information is completely up to date and relevant to all sexists keen on improving technique. A great addition to my library.

I purchased this book and love it! Susan Khalje has a way of explaining techniques so that they are very understandable to someone wanting to learn how to do couture sewing. It would be an excellent book to add to one's sewing library. It would also be good for a more experienced couture seamstress.

for natural fabric linings that have been utilized, so one doesn't have to experiment. as well as, some decent info about fabric stress at waist- bands and neck/armhole facings. one down side to book is it is an i i i me me me and wordy. if one can obtain book for reasonable price, it makes a decent reference, especially after editing.

This book is a treasure - very, very useful, full of couture techniques and advice from the expert.

Da ich einen Online-Kurs bei dieser Autorin gebucht habe, wollte ich dieses Buch (welches so gut wie vergriffen ist) unbedingt haben. Auch weil ich Kleidung aus Naturfaser bevorzuge. Der Inhalt überzeugt mich genau wie der Kurs zur Anfertigung eines Couture-Kleides. Für mich ein gutes Nachschlagwerk.
