HydrofarmGCTB2 Heavy Duty Tomato Barrel with 4' Tower, Green

I started with one of these on a recommendation from a friend and quickly fell in love with it. This is a perfect option for balcony/apartment gardeners. It's relatively sturdy, providing that you keep the bottom reservoir filled with water. I do often find mine toppled over when strong winds rip around my apartment balcony during storms. I simply need to move the tower closer to the building and it hold up just fine. It's relatively easy to put the trellis together as you need it and easy to clean out and store at the end of the season. I now have two towers and recommend this to friends just starting out in growing tomatoes as it's easy and fool proof.

I love this planter because it is deep and sturdy also it has wheels which makes it easy to move around. I hate having to water every day, so this planter box has where you can store the water in the bottom. I am using it to plant my cucumbers. Truly happy for the trellis. Great buy.

This is my 3rd season using these tomato barrels to grow veggies on balcony. They are perfect for this purpose, and I've added an additional container every year so at this point I have 3 barrels and one of the larger rectangular containers. I've used them to grow tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cantaloupe, and corn.

I like the self-watering feature, and love that it drains if overfilled. We had torrential rains and these pots are not soggy and waterlogged like my others. Large barrel should handle a full grown indeterminate tomato. Fingers crossed! One caution - be careful if you move them around because the cage easily comes apart.

The heavy duty part of this seems not so true. The actual tower keeps falling apart. The bin for planting is ok. I thought it could be a bit larger. The tower really in the problem. The holes to place the tower into the container are too shallow. The tower falls apart in wind, if I bump the container or a storm happens.

These Tomato Barrels are perfect. Hydrofarm provides great service, after using these for several years, we broke one of the inserts. I called them to see if they sold inserts separately. They asked for the product number and 4 days later we received a new insert with no charge.We currently have 9. Just add good potting media, prewater the soil, plant your seedlings and fill up the bottom reservoir.

Love the watering feature and it is easy to use. The plastic wall for your vines and stalks is alittle flimsy but still works ok

Makes growing your own vegetables a breeze, I plan to get another next summer to expand my balcony garden

Der Artikel ist an sich eine praktische Sache zumal ich mit anderen Artikel der Firma Hydrofarm bereits gute erfahrungen gemacht habe. Leider wurde beide male der Artikel ohne das auf dem Bild ersichtliche und in der Artikelbeschreibung erwähnte rechteckige Gestell geliefert, weswegen ich beide Lieferungen hab zurückgehen lassen.Vermutlich hat sich irgendwo ein Fehler eingeschlichen, denn der Artikel gleicht einem anderen der aber ohne das rechteckige Rankgestell ist. Vermutlich wurden beide verwechselt.Dank des Amazon Kundenservices erhalte ich jetzt immerhin mein Geld zurück. Leider muss ich jetzt mit meine Tomaten improvisieren.

Um es vorweg zu sagen, für den jetzt angegebenen Preis von fast 50€ hätte ich den Behälter nicht gekauft. Ich habe im Winter 33€ bezahlt. Das Gitter ist nicht zu gebrauchen, zu instabil. Habe mir aus Dachlatten ein Spalier gebaut. Hält alles !! Habe einer 1,5 l Petflasche den Boden abgeschnitten und benutze Ihn als Trichter für die Wassereinfüllung mit großer Gießkanne. Aber wie gesagt, das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist nicht ok. Die Firma sollte die 3 ersten irreführenden Fotos entfernen. Das 4. Foto stimmt mit der Lieferung überein.
