Bought this book as a home reference for taking the CPC exam.It's extensively formatted and relatively organized well, but it could use a little improving.Many of the sections and codes I've found need a little more expansion or clarification, some of which can be a bit ambiguous, and there may be multiple codes for the exact same diagnosis, procedure, etc. which the book does not reference to.This book has only a very small amount of modifiers, and as I've discovered the hard way, if you're planning to use this reference book for the exam, you will also need an additional version(s) in order to correctly answer test questions and for use in practical applications.(See HCPCS Level II as you most likely need to purchase that book in conjunction with this one)It's spiral bound and easy to thumb through, but many of the entries cited are out of order. Ex: if you're looking for a code (this is an example only) 123.45 and can't find it in it's sequential order, then it may be found on the next pages within other codes, or listed separately.Note: because CPT codes are updated a minimum of once annually, it's very important to buy the current year's issue.This book is a must-have if you're planning to take the exam.

Briefly flipped through this book, and I cannot see any damage, or even any writing/highlighting. I was curious whether the tabs it comes with to mark the sections would still be there, and they had not even been touched/used, so that was nice! Im satisfied, glad I saved some money buying used instead of new, it really helps me out. Im paying for school out of pocket because I am terrified of loans.

After reading all the negative reviews, I was afraid my book would be in horrible shape; however, it arrived in bubble wrap and was in excellent shape. It seems this book does get thicker every year and, in my opinion, really should be available in a bound edition. Either that, or the wire it's bound with should be thicker. As much wear and tear as my book will receive over the next several months, I really hope it holds up well.

Each edition of this book gets better every year. It makes it simpler to locate codes and includes the updates to the guidelines. Quick tip: Get the Avery Label Tabs and label each section, including any note pages per personal notes that appear at the end of the chapters. This will help you to locate codes at a glance. The book comes with limited tabs which give you the abbreviation of the sections for tabbing, but you are much better off tabbing the sections by number series.

This book was returned because a friend gave me a copy. It is actually hard to read and I had to use it for a while to understand how it is organized.

Book contents and paper quality is good. Spiral binding is not good.

Pages are too delicate.

Pages get torn easily.
