Lengthy lessons
This is a great resource for social studies teachers. It can save a lot of time once you learn what all the lessons are. But it does take some time to read all the lessons and really have a visual image of how the lesson comes together. A few more pictures in this book and less text would have been really helpful. Plus the text font is very small so it is a lot of reading for the teacher. The lessons included in the book are very good and work well for grade 5-9 but they do require a lot of planning from the teacher. It’s not something you could leave behind for a sub or something you open up when you need a lesson ASAP.

Great Curriculum Supplement
I bought this to use in my 7th and 8th grade history classes. Its a small school and a lot of the students are IEP and/or unsupported at home, thus making school in general a chore. I have done one full activity (early humans) and am halfway through a second (mesopotamia). My students love it!!! Their anticipation to what the activity could be is priceless!Warning though, these do take extra prep time and some supplies you might not have in your classroom. Also, the pages don't tear out so it is a chore with the copy machine - especially a finicky one like my school's.

Good book, but average activities
As an educator, I was looking to get an edge on the standards being enforced in the curriculum. So when I saw this book, I knew that I was going to have a lot of great activities to share with my students. I was really disappointed with the activities. I feel that books like Evan Moore do a more thorough job of helping educators plan fun activities and tasks for the students, than this book attempted to do. The ideas were good, but some of the activities lack creativity and seem dull; therefore possibly leaving students out who are not fully engaged because of lack of details and like I said creativity. Save your money if you are a licensed History teacher who really wants dynamic ideas to help stretch objectives and make history fun for your students.

New to teaching World History
I saw someone post about this book in a social studies teacher fb group and I immediately bought it. I will be teaching world history for the first time and I’m nervous. I’ve created lessons I’m very happy with that involve movement and are engaging in my US history content but I’m starting from scratch here with World. I had very high hopes for this book but I was disappointed. I’m using maybe two, probably just one, of the lessons the rest are pretty lame. This book is outdated and mentions overhead projectors as technology, which I knew going in, but I was hoping that would mean more unplugged and hands on lessons. This book is very basic not very creative. I was unimpressed. Save your money.

Great Simulations!
I've used the first simulation with my class so far, and they loved it. Very engaging. You just need to make sure you plan ahead for supplies. That being said, the supplies are easy to come by. I modified the planters and dirt by making a picture of a field and having the students draw a seed with their initials to represent their farming.
