Miracle Product!!!
This is my first Amazon product review as I feel this product truly deserves it! Nope, no money or incentive involved, just an honest review!I have been a scalp/ear psoriasis sufferer for about 40 years. Recently I was devasted as my psoriasis began to appear on my body too. In all these years there is not a single product/natural remedy, that I feel I have not tried, and with no success. T-gel used to give me some relief, and not the extra strength one (made it worse), but it didn’t work for me anymore. Desperate to try anything and everything, as I was leaving a trail of white dust everywhere (how embarrassing), I came across this product and ordered it. I thought maybe it would not work as it seemed to be like extra strength T-gel. I read other reviews how they used it a couple of times and then they were all good! I must admit that I was skeptical...Well! Let me say, just like the other reviews!!! I washed my head/ears once, while I soaked in in the tub, so my body was exposed to the product too, and no exaggeration, my scabs, flakes, itching, disappeared in what seemed like overnight!!! Never in my life have I experienced this!!! I couldn’t believe it. Yes, crappy tar smell, but the relief is indescribable unless you have experienced psoriasis first hand. I can even go for a week using “pretty smelling stuff” as an alternative too without my psoriasis coming back! For maintenance, I jump in a bath once a week, put this shampoo on my head, and yes, hang out for about an hour with it on. Read, text, drink wine, it’s all good!!I cannot thank this product enough for the relief of itching (never mind, it all disappeared!), no more flakes and scabs, and letting me confidently wear my black clothes again. This truly is a miracle product for me!!!

Smells terrible, works great.
I have suffered from psoriasis for 5 years now. The psoriasis on my scalp has recently gotten worse due to not being able to afford my Humira injections. Psoriasis on the scalp really sucks, because in addition to the constant itch, you have to deal with what looks like the worst case of dandruff in the entire universe. Enter Psoriatrax. This shampoo smells terrible. It looks terrible. But, it will give you the relief that you need. I didnt give it five stars because...you have to use it EVERY DAY. As long as you use it everyday, it will keep the psoriasis at bay. Miss even just one day, things return to the hellish conditions that were there before. Also, be prepared for it to burn. It burns like there is no tomorrow. Definitely a great shampoo though for anyone suffering with psoriasis on their scalp.

Finally, shampoo that works against my chronic seborritis dermatitis(sp?)
I've always had flaky scalp for as long as I remember. Conventional shampoos like Head & Shoulders and even some of the herbal expensive shampoos bought from Amazon didn't work. This one WORKS. Yes, it has strong tar smell and all, but that's what you bought! When I use this once or twice a week, especially after sweating a lot (after workout, etc.), I noticed almost immediately that my scalp is clear in the problem areas like right above forehead, sideburns, etc where I'd normally have really stubborn, stuck-to-scalp scales (the kind that if you scratch off, you get a mild wound). I did notice that they come back if I don't regularly use it at least every 4 days or so.But I am not complaining - this stuff works! I also bought a slightly weaker tar shampoo of another brand to alternate with this because I can't imagine that using this too often is good for my hair.

I love this shampoo!
I developed scalp line psoriasis on the back of my head about ten years ago. Until about two months ago, it wasn’t that bad so I treated it with Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo and Dermarest Psoriasis shampoo. In addition, I knew that coffee, pepsi, and chocolate seemed to cause more intense itching, so I stayed away from them most of the time. However in August, the psoriasis developed fairly intensely behind the ears. I knew it was time to try to do something more.My first step in October was to read the book by John O. A. Pagano titled Healing Psoriasis. I followed the diet (no…. - red meat, sugar, flour, caffeine, soda, chocolate, peppers, paprika, vinegar (except apple cider vinegar), white rice, strawberries, alcohol, etc). In addition, I drank Slippery Elm tea in the morning and tried to increase my water intake to eight glasses daily. This diet helped tremendously and would have probably cured it had I given it time, but I got impatient. This week, my next step was to try the Coal Tar Psoriasis Shampoo Psoriatrax. The first time I used it, I felt the wonderful burn which seemed to indicate it was working. I shook the Psoriatrax bottle well before putting it on where my psoriasis lesions were located (scalp line and behind ears), then left it in my hair for at least five minutes. And for good measures, I followed it with Dermarest shampoo and left that on for a couple of minutes. Then I shampoo’d the rest of my hair with my normal shampoo and conditioner. (Normally I shampoo my hair every other day, but this week, I have done it daily.)In addition, my dermatologists had given me a prescription for Clobetasol Propionate Topical Solution (.05%). Previously I never used it since I am not a fan of steroids, but decided this week to add it to the regiment. I squirted it on at bedtime and slept in it. (NOTE: - The directions for this product indicate to never use a prescription drug at the same time, so I used it for only five days.)After five days, my psoriasis lesions on my scalp have disappeared or shrank drastically. Behind my ears are smooth. I have been able to go all day without the need to scratch. It is a wonderful feeling. My plan is to stop the Psoriatrax/Dermarest/Clobetasol regiment now. I will switch to the Psoriatrax daily and to eat the Healing Psoriasis diet to see if those two things keep my psoriasis in check. If that is successful, I will try to stretch out the use of Psoriatrax to every other day. I will give an update next month.**Update (February 11, 2020) - I wrote the above in December, 2019. I used the Psoriatrax every other day until the end of December when I had some kind of allergic reaction to something. I didn't think it was the shampoo, but I stopped using it to try to isolate what my body was having a problem with. However, I continued on with the Healing Psoriasis diet found in the John O. A. Pagano book. (I did have some slip-ups during the holidays, but did about 95% on and 5% off the diet for a couple of weeks.) My psoriasis continue to clear up. Mid January, I went back to using the Psoriatrax, but just on the only lesion that was still on my scalp. In retrospect, I think the Psoriatrax shampoo is a way to jump start the healing and control the itch, but I think if you want to clear up the psoriasis, the Healing Psoriasis diet is the best way to go.(NOTE: - If you decide to try the Clobetasol Propionate Topical Solution, make sure to NEVER get it on your face as it is possible to develop steroid-induced dermatitis. And I would suggest you don't use it for long since it thins the skin.)

Works for me!
Totally took care of my scalp situation. Use it each day, or even every other day. I started to use my normal shampoo after leaving this in for a few minutes just to get the smell out. Using my regular shampoo after applying this has not hindered it at all.
