Magical Delights Colouring Book : Published in Czech as Carovne Lahodnosti Hardcover

Hardcover just like Hanna Karlzon books and the same kind of paper. Klara is very influenced in her artwork, as well, by Swedish Hanna. When you look at the pictures, you get the copy cat feel, because it is not only Hanna that has influenced the artist, but also Johanna Basford. Even Brambley Hedge's illustrator has given ideas. But I love Klara's twist on things, because she really has a style of her own, which you notice when you ignore all the Hanna gemstones, keys and mushrooms. You get rooms and kitchens located in tree trunks and under ground. You get trolls, gnomes and fairies. Laundry and copper... Pity I have not found a pencil which gives a good copper shine and colour! The book is just lovely and one thing which makes it a favourite of mine, are all the little dots indicating where for the colourist to shade. Not always easy for me to do well, otherwise. I love that it is hardcover and having a somewhat shiny paper in it, because it makes it more likely to last. And the fact that you only have one picture per page, is great. You can't get in to the spine, which is a nuisance, but that is the only thing I have to complain about.

This coloring book is perfection! I was completely blown away when I received this book from Klara from the Czech Republic. It's a real hardcover book that can sit on your bookshelf for years to be shared with your friends and family. I have recently thought what a wonderful keepsake this will be for my kids and grandkids to see gramma's books she colored in all those years ago. The paperback books will likely be tossed but not one like this. The pictures are fanciful and fun with just enough detail to make them interesting but not too much so that you are frustrated. The paper is luscious and toothy for we pencil addicts out there and printed on one side of the paper for you marker lovers. On the facing page, there is a little motive with an area for your name and a note. I've decided to put the date and the materials used to color it in. Thank you SO much for sending me this delightful book. I love it and it's on my list of favorite coveted coloring books.

This has restored my faith in books. I was so bothered by the paper quality in every book I bought for colouring till I found this one. I have a book of quality pictures with a hint of shadow by using tiny dots. The whimsical content isn't really me but I am enjoying practising in this book. The paper is thick and almost cardstock but it has such an amazing mixed media ( pens pencils) that I can use anything and it holds the pigment the water content and the spread. I have just started using watercolour on it and without too much water its making pictures of such pretty bright colours I'm thrilled. It dries in very little time and the end result is pure joy. The cover is hardback and quality also. The world of colouring has just stepped up a couple of notches in my estimation all because of this book.

This is truly a stunning book. Flowers and fairies, elves and insects, magic and folklore, this book has it all.The book is hardcover and opens flat. The paper is top quality and printed on one side only. The illustrations are beautiful, and the style is reminiscent of the Eastern European fairy stories we used to see on TV (If you can remember that far back!)The whole thing is whimsical and joyful and somehow brings back memories of childhood.A lovely, quirky addition is that on the last page are little doors to colour and cut out. They can then be added to the appropriate illustrations in the book (see the video on Klara's page). Last, but not least is the bookmark to colour which is thoughtfully popped inside the book. Lovely touches to a truly imaginative work. Lets hope it won't be long to wait for the next one.

Love this book. Karla Markova is such a talented artist. I adore her style, it's quirky, whimsical, magical and cute. The paper is lovely; nice and thick and with a great texture for a variety of mediums.It's hardback - in the style of artists like Hanna Karlzon - and just oozes quality. The pages are all delightful and full of quirky little details.It's one of those books that each time you open it you notice new little things.I just wish Amazon would get her second book - Tenderful Enchantments - back in stock, it looks just as amazing as Magical Delights.

As a die hard Johanna Basford fan I wasn't sure I'd take to such a different style of book and at first I did find it strange colouring in A4 format and in a hardback book. But once I got into it colouring in this was an absolute pleasure. The paper is lovely quality and the illustrations are so magical and enchanting. The only gripe I have is not being able to get very far into the spine with my pencils but I can overlook this because of the overall premium quality of this book. I use Prismacolor pencils mainly and found they laid down beautifully on this paper, I was able to add lots of layers with no tearing or degradation to the paper at all. Very much looking forward to colouring more of it!

This book is beautiful, the illustrations are charming, and the paper is thick and of high quality, with the illustrations are printed on one side. There is something special about having a colouring book in hardback, yes it costs more but if you are a book lover then sometimes paying a little more is worth it, and that is the case with this book. With most of these high quality colouring books now they become not necessarily just books to 'colour in', in fact it wouldn't matter if you never coloured a page - the artwork stands alone and is just there to be admired, and Klara Markova's book is certainly one of those.

I ordered this book on friday evening delivered 11am the next day .. Fantastic service. The book is one of the nicest I have seen. Its so unusual .. I am looking forward to start colouring in....I am sure it will bring hours of pleasure. Its nice to see other reviews have pit their pictures on they look lovely hope I can get mine as nice as the ones I have seen on the reviews.. The book is magical and reminds me of being a child I used to have this sort of imagination to. Thankyou klara its a first class book on beautifull paper ... Patricia Chapman
