Ahh
I really liked this one. It was more nostalgic and introspective than the previous novels which I really loved. I’m seeing a lot more personality in this book shining through.

Logic flaws and errors
I have always enjoyed the Monkeewrench series, and even without the mother half of P.J. Tracy, the novels are still a fun romp. The witty, humorous writing is lively and fast-paced. But this latest had a few glitches. (A man is described as being dead for 5 years on one page, and then a bit later, there's a photo of him taken 2 years ago, no explanation.) The computer-geek flavor is missing. A real Luddite could have formed those segments without even googling anything. But most of all, I simply don't buy rural Minnesota as a Mexican drug cartel hotspot. There are other quibbles, but overall, the novel gives me hope that the surviving half of the author duo will be able to handle future novels successfully.

Nothing Stays Buried
So many changes in this book. A very happy ending for a change. Grace and Leo moving on with their lives, interesting. A very good book.

Gino, Leo & Monkeewrench still solving crime.
Excellent story lines blended between local murders, historic, national & international intrigue. I still love following Gino & Leo's down to earth, believable & relatable experiences.....but Harley & the Monkeewrench gang get the big jobs done.

PJ Tracy is a master of the genre!
I've been reading a lot of books lately, mysteries primarily, and I've been enjoying them. But it thrilled me to read this book by a master of the genre -- well characterized, and tightly plotted. Nothing Stays Buried is a page turner from the discovery of a woman jogger in a city park -- strangled and badly cut up -- to the final breath-taking scenes on a small Minnesota farm bearing the brunt of a massive tornado. The Monkeywrench folks work alongside the city police and county sheriff to solve the mystery of murdered women left with a playing card on their chests. I could not put it down, nor did I want to, until the amazing climax.

BUT IT NOW!!!!!
I have been a Monkeewrench fan since I was working at Walden Books when the first book came out. I have given it as a gift many times, both hardcover and paperback. PJ Tracy is God's gift to thriller writing and Nothing Stays Buried maintains this. There has never been a Monkeewrench book of less than stellar quality and I now believe there never will be. Longtime readers, buy this book because it will bring you as much enjoyment as every other installment. New readers, start with the first book. As it wows you, know every book after will wow you just as much!

Deeply Disappointed this long time fan
PJ Tracy is a mother-daughter writing team. This is the first novel after the mother died. What I liked about PJ Tracy’s novels were the intricate plots, the dark humor, the realistic and quirky characters and the snappy dialogue. The intricate plot remains. Characters (including reoccurring main characters) have been replaced with cardboard cutouts. Instead of dialogue, there is purple prose, long introspective misings and memories from the point of view of even the minor characters. There are very few attempts at humor and they fall flat. But the intricate plot remains which is the only reason this review has 3 stars rather than 1 or 2. Is this enough to carry the book? Not for me. I have too much invested in the previous novels to want to see every bit of personality ripped from the characters

Best Monkeewrench book yet.
Totally satisfying for any Monkeewrench fan. Fast paced yet keeps the good character development and sense of humor that marks the other books in the series. I reread the first 8 books before diving into this one, now I can't wait for the next one. Traci has done an excellent job on her own after losing her mother, I just hope she decides to continue on. There are still so many things I want to know about the characters!
