I love love love these. Soft warm light and bulbs don't get hot at all. I'm not sure how long they last, and are a bit pricey upfront, but if they last as long as they should it is well worth the cost.

These bulbs worked fine. I used two of them in my range hood -- they are indeed about1/2" longer than the halogen bulbs that they replaced, so they show up and are quite bright when on, which could annoy some folks. But I don't keep the range lights on unless I'm cooking, and these provide a brighter light over the range. The dimmed ("low") setting is still quite bright. I'm very pleased to replace my high-watt halogens with these.I also used one bulb in a floor lamp with a glass shade, where a standard 60W bulb was so bright as to be blinding. This bullet flood puts most of the light where you want it, in your lap when you're reading. Still, there is a lot of light going out the side, and even with just 45W, it's annoying in the room. SO to remedy that, I put stretchy white electrical tape around the side of the bulb to dim down that part of the beam. It works great, and there is still enough light to read by.This bulb spreads light in 100 degrees -- I probably should have gotten a spot flood light (spread of 20 degrees) for the light in the floor lamp, but this works.

I have tried several brands of R20 LED bulbs to begin to replace all of the R20 45Watt 2700k incandescent bulbs that I have in my house. The existing incandescent bulbs have become very difficult to purchase and tend to fail quickly. These new LED bulbs are the only bulbs that "fill the bill". They are only 6.5 watt and they are 2700k...so far so good. The brightness and color are almost identical and they dim flawlessly and there is no perceptible flicker. I like the frosted surface which softens and diffuses the light very well The attached photograph shows that the first 3 bulbs in the ceiling of the small hallway are the LED bulbs. The bulbs in the backround are CFL bulbs. The bulbs in the ceiling to the right of the hallway are 45 watt incandescent bulbs and the floor lamps are 10 watt halogen. They are very well matched and I am very pleased with my purchase.

Much brighter than our current exterior lights. The warm light matched our existing ones but lit up a much broader spectrum. Hopefully they do last 22 years like the box says. These should since we don’t turn them on daily.
