Red Boat Phu Quoc Black Peppercorns - Traditional Vietnamese Whole Peppercorns

Great taste and value. I've enjoyed this pepper on many dishes and look forward to using it many more.

Seems odd to praise peppercorns but these are great. Very fresh, peppery and clean tasting.

I bought this thinking it was salt with black peppercorns but all it is was raw peppercorn. It’s deceiving because when you see the brand Red Boat, you assume it’s a fish sauce product. So I thought it was a salty fish sauce peppercorn salt or at least fish sauce flavor peppercorn. But it’s just plain peppercorn with no fish sauce flavor at all. By the time I opened the jar to use, it was past the return date. I feel cheated

Perfect whole peppercorns made for chef cooking

I visited Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam a few years ago and picked up 500g of peppercorns form a local farm there. I have been addicted to good pepper ever since. There is just no comparison to the crusty, dried out and shriveled malabar pepper hocked by most sources (for me anyway). It has gotten harder to find recently and was glad to see Red Boat offering them. These are every bit as good as the ones I hauled back halfway across the globe. They are sealed tightly and are very fresh.

I fell in love with this kind of pepper while living in Japan. Since moving back to the states, I have not been able to find anything that came close to the taste I remembered…until now. This pepper has amazing flavor and grinds beautifully. If you’re looking for something with more bang than your typical grocery store black pepper then please give this a try.
