Heavy, strong and easy to assemble
I needed a fireplace gate for my 12 month old granddaughter. We had another brand for her 5 year old brother but got rid of it two years ago. This is a working wood fireplace but haven't actually used it in years so really was buying it to keep her from getting hurt. It's super heavy metal. I struggled getting it from my front steps delivery into the house. There were no instructions which surprised me. I just clicked the two sides together first, then clicked the door in between the two panels. Putting the mounting brackets on was even easier. We are buying metal mollies to put in the walls. The cheap plastic ones that come with the gate won't withstand a toddler yanking on something this heavy. We got the black color and it blends in well. The five year old likes being able to put his small toys inside the gate so the baby can't get at them. Gives him some personal space that he can play in without a toddler bothering him when he wants and he can open it with ease and play with his sister too. We have a very small living room and we got the five panel gate. It takes up a bit more room but the pros definitely outweigh the cons. It's so strong and sturdy I know she will be safe. And, if we ever lose power in the winter and need to use the fireplace, it will keep both kids safe. Well worth the money!

VERY happy with this baby gate! Great for awkward areas that need babyproofing!
I bought this Bonnlo Baby Gate after seeing a review/photo of someone who has a similar awkward layout to their home as I do. I have a raised ranch, and at the top of the stairs there is this big dangerous area around the top of the stairs where there is a metal railing and nowhere to easily attach a doorway gate (see photos). This worked very well for babyproofing this awkward area of my home! The gate is pretty reasonably priced compared to others on the market, it easily and effectively covers my open entrance at the top of my stairs as well as the whole metal railing along the edge of the stairs (where there is a potentially dangerous drop), it is easy to customize, it is a sturdy metal material, it doesn't move around easily, and it locks into place firmly. The door is easy to open for an adult, but my baby definitely isn't able to figure it out. The door can be locked shut or swung open in either direction and there is an option to keep it open without the door swinging around.I installed this myself, without any help from my husband so I would say installation is fairly simple. However, the instructions are in poorly translated English so that was a little bit annoying, but it was easy enough to figure out what to do based on the pictures and a little critical thinking. I ended up anchoring mine into a closet door frame (hard wood) and my entryway corner (metal stud) so it is SUPER stable. My baby pushes against it and it doesn't move at all.One modification that I did was placing thin, non-slip furniture pads on the whole base of the gate because I have hardwood floors that I would prefer not to damage! I'm not sure if this also helps hold the gate in place well, but I have no complaints. If you are looking for a long baby gate for any awkward places in your home that you'd like to babyproof, I would recommend buying this. Just be aware that the installation process might require a little bit of problem solving because the instructions aren't completely clear.Hope this helps!

Two gates for the price of one
Although I gave four stars for the three rate features, the item overall is a 5-star product for the needs of our family. We have a 1 yr old and another on the way. We were able to split this gate into two different sections, one with a gate and one without. Because the main family room has two entrances, we can block one entrance completely while controlling the accessibility of the other entrance with the gated fence section. This means we were able to complete two gated needs for the price of one gate. While there are a few cons which we will state below, the overall product is exactly what we needed.PROsMulti-useEach section is individual as opposed to having 2 or 3 sections pre-attachedSolid feel once correctly installedEasy to follow directionsCONSGate latch feels a little weakAssembly and installation are a little difficult

Does the job
It does the job and it pretty good quality. Only thing I don't care for is if you lift too high on the gate it'll pop out of the hole and come off which is pretty inconvenient. It a little short so I can step over it and while walking through I bump my hips. But again it's pretty good and does the job.

Not made for homes with kids.
So I was extremely excited about this baby gate as it is shorter than our previous baby gate so me and my husband can step over it. But after setting it up it didn’t even last 12 hours. My two year old barely pulled on it and it literally snapped apart and broke. Definitely wasn’t worth the money. I figured it would be sturdy and would live up to the cost. However it didn’t even survive the first morning (we put it up late last night after the kids were asleep... and she was able to pull on the part that opens and it snapped the hinges in half). Definitely not made for toddlers. Maybe for pets but not for toddlers at all. She tried to open the latch and pull the gate open..... instead it just snapped. I couldn’t believe my eyes. We haven’t ever had a baby gate do that. Our toddlers have always been able to open the baby gates, we more so have them to slow them down and so we can hear when they’re going into the kitchen. Which works for us. But I was in the kitchen and told her she could come in the kitchen, and watched her push the red button and pull the gate and the hinges just snapped right in half. There is no way to fix it either as it’s the hinges right next to where the gate opens. Pretty bummed and upset. Idk if we got a faulty gate, or if all are like this. But I will not be purchasing or recommending this gate as a result. It was pretty easy to set up which I liked. And it looked nice. But it is not sturdy. And not made for homes with kids. And I’m sure if our big dog bumped into it now, it would have easily broke that way too. Such a shame.
