Easy Replacement For a Marantec 4500e
Used this unit to replace the head an belt/trolley track assembly of a Marantec 4500e that was killed by a lightning strike. Was very easy. All the old wiring went to the same pins and was very easy to set up. Also, the new remotes have 2 buttons. I can control the 2 car side of my 3 car garage with one button (Marantec 4500e) and the single car garage door (Marantec Synergy Solo) with the other button. ...so no more need for 2 remotes. Their jumper idea is used on both products and is super easy. Worked with the already existing eyes and wall control from the previous 4500e. Another good point is that it’s even quieter than the 4500e.Only bummer was that mounting was entirely different and the trolley rail was 3 pieces and I have a 20 foot ceiling and no way to mount brackets. I may eventually try and use the old track. I thought the built-in mounting brackets on the 4500e were a slightly better design.

SUPER Quiet! Terrific back lighted wireless keypad that we use often! Overall great unit that I'll buy again if/when we move again.

Radio Range is very short if you use your car's system.
It opens and closes quietly. That's a positive. It is a little slow, but that's also OK. It's biggest drawback is you have to be directly in front of the door (2 feet or less) before the car's remote will work. The separate remote with the unit operates much further away, but who wants to carry extra stuff in the car. Those car remotes work on my other opener from half a block away, so I know it isn't the car's system. Probably just a bad antenna but still, bad manufacture or bad engineering.

Main circuit board failed one month after warranty....
The extended warranty doesnt cover electronics. My unit was opening the door randomly often in middle of the night. Marantec customer service didnt want to budge on the 2 year rule. Pity as its a nice quiet unit .... Ended up costing me $280 to repair unit, almost the rpice of the unit...

Didnt last 3 years
Ran into what appears to be a common issue with the board. No help from their customer service. Would not recommend. Lasted less than 3 years
