Extraordinarily VERSATILE product: LOVE IT !
Best wood patch on the market! Thanks to its incredible versatility, I managed to patch entire areas of our 105-year old PINEWOOD FLOOR, as well as reconstructing ORNAMENTAL PARTS (even half-broken little spheres!) of our front porch handrail."Zar" Wood Patch (="Z.W.P.") can be easily STAINED too, so much so I've always bought its so-called 'neutral' color, the most versatile of its three color options. Talking about staining "Z.W.P.", I have an important recommendation: it is advisable to begin staining "Z.W.P." prior to sanding it and only THEN sand it, because sanding "Z.W.P." with a fine sand paper (as I did the first time) can actually work as a sealing agent for "Z.W.P.", thus preventing it from absorbing the stain itself. The Product Specialists at "U.G.L.", the company where "Z.W.P." is made, couldn't be friendlier and more competent, and this adds up to my overall appreciation for this fabulous product.Thank you, "Z.W.P.", from this very 'D.I.Y.-ORIENTED Family Man!

The Best Wood Filler
I have bought ZAR wood patch before and will continue to order it as needed. It is the best I have used. I use it in a variety of ways: building up and finishing surfaces, reparing ceramics, finishing ceramic sculptures, and filling surface dents in wooden objects. ZAR is more fine-grained than other fillers. It adheres to a variety of different materials, sands well, and accepts many types of surface coatings (acrylic paint, lacquer, sprays). I have found nothing better.

Good for little holes
The stuff is easy to apply, easily smooths out with a wet finger or tools. It does not get crumbly like Elmers after you have opened the container a few times. I have not stained it, so I can't comment on that. It works great for smaller holes. I would not use it for larger and deeper areas, especially outside or use it for cracks that expand. I had a larger area that I filled and it showed thin cracks after it dried. Fine for using to fix some cosmetic damage but it does not have the strength of Bondo which I prefer for most jobs that need larger repair and structural strength.

Wonderful wood patch
Wonderful wood patch. You can stain it. I suggest adding color (stain) to it before applying it. Sanding is easy. After about an hour, I will go back with a wet cloth and clean up some of my patches before I sand it. Very easy product to work with. Also, If I stain it after applying it, I will let the stain sit for a bit before wiping off. Time differs. I just keep an eye on it.

does not harden
I used this to repair termite damage in old pine floor boards. Because the damage was small and the boards would be very difficult to match I decided to lift undamaged face of the boards, clean out the crumbled deteriorated wood underneath and fill the voids with this product. Everything looked like it worked. Easy to control and fill the 3/8's deep areas so I left the job to dry. It seemed to dry but after 1 week in the airconditioned house it was still soft under the hardened skin of the product. On digging it out I found it dry and crumbly. I'm going back to good old water putty.

Not Durable
Does not stand up to outdoor weather conditions, tried to use it to clean up our patio stairs and it just broke off. Not helpful.
