I have four cats, 2 are larger. A Maine coon and Siberian. Maine coon used to exclusively drink water from the bathtub tap. I hated keeping it on but he would refuse to drink standing water. This fountain is wonderful. Easy to clean, holds plenty of water for all of my cats to drink. I have it slightly elevated on a short box and keep a towel under it because some of the cats will play with the water and splash it a bit (thankfully not much). Overall very worth the money. I’ve had it for a few months now and all is well. I give it a deep clean it once a week.UPDATE:8 months in and had to replace the water pump. Noticed that even after a deep clean the pump was weak. Thankfully we had a replacement already and the fountain is like new again! It is an absolute MUST to give this fountain a deep clean weekly. Remember to change the filters and rinse them before use!!Altogether I still love this and my cats have been drinking water like mad now that it’s summer.UPDATE: This fountain is still working out great for my cats. I try to use only filtered water and give it a deep clean every 1-2 weeks. Hope it continues to last a long time. I’ve had not issues with the replacement pump so maybe the first pump was a lemon.

I have tried 3 different fountains, and this is the best yet. My pets enjoy the flowing water and I enjoy the sound of the water flowing. I learned that I have to rinse the pump every week. We have a water softener, and it seems we get a slick layer of slime on everything, if I don't rinse the pump, the flow slows to a trickle and the pump seems to struggle. I read in another review that running white vinegar through the pump to clean it helps, I tried it and yep, I agree. 1/2 cup vinegar 2 cups water and let the pump run for 10 minutes, then run clear water for another 5 and it's like the unit is brand new. I recommend this pump 100%.

This is my 2nd Drinkwell. The motor failed on my Original Drinkwell (after 8 to 10 years of service) so I decided to buy a new fountain instead of replacing just the motor. I disagree with most of the negative reviews. The new fountain is not loud. If anything it is less noisy than my Original Drinkwell. I suspect people did not assemble if properly. Assembly was easy once I peaked at the owner's manual and understood the newer design. Cleaning and filter replacement is easy. I think new plastic finish is easier to clean than my previous Original Drinkwell. Just like my Original Drinkwell I suspect it needs to be cleaned once a month or so.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

So-it does what it's supposed to. It has a huge capacity water dish, a super small pump that pulls water through a debris filter, pushes it up through a charcoal activated filter and fills a small dish/reservoir at the top. Then it flows through a small spout and creates flowing water. A little bit of a hum/vibration (plastic on plastic or tile, we tried it on a mat, still the noise.) The real issue is the cleaning. It's easy, but takes 10-15 minutes, not really long, but a bowl is so easy-guess I'm getting lazy. They made it easy, the tube is actually two halves, so you don't have to use a bottle type brush. The foam debris filter and charcoal filter last maybe a month, so there's a recurring cost. Just know what you're getting. We're going to give ours away.

I was excited to buy a bigger water fountain for my 2 dogs and 3 cats. My 1/2 gallon ceramic fountain had to be filled so often, especially during this heat wave we have a lot of it evaporate during the day. The old fountain had a very quiet motor and filtered water very well; the water simply had to be replenished too often. I value PetSafe brand products and was excited to receive this. Setup was easy. My dogs adapted to it immediately. First impression was I was surprised how loud this fountain is. I might as well leave my kitchen sink faucet running all day; it really is that annoying. Most importantly, it doesn't do what a filtered fountain is supposed to do, and that is keep the water clean. My old fountain only needed a good cleanout and complete exchange every 1-2 weeks. This thing is filthy is less than 1 day. Dirt and debris settled to the bottom. And the aggravation of having to carry 1.5 - 2 gallons of water to sink and empty, take apart, and refill every 2 days is ridiculous. Honestly, at this point it is easier and cleaner to simply have a large dog bowl and empty it out daily. I am on the lookout for a better fountain that is large enough to accommodate all my animals, but still keep the water as clean as possible

I got one of these with a part missing. The maker was easy to reach and v helpful. The device is simple to assemble. My kitten loves it, she much prefers it to bowls and it keeps the water fresher than bowls do. However, she’s a Bengal and they love water. My tuxedo cat likes it but it’s not such a big deal for her. It’s easier than water bowls for me, the 1/2 gallon size is big enough for the kitties but takes up little room, and the sound is pleasing. It’s also inexpensive compared to other brands. Maybe it won’t last long, we shall see.

I had tried other water fountains with the shallow stainless steel plates and learned a valuable lesson with those. If you lose power, there is no way for your pet to access the water underneath the plate. That is why I went searching for and found this fountain. Even if the power goes out, there is still water in the trough for them to drink. Only the circulation stops. This fountain is quiet, you can control the speed of the water flow, and it's easy to maintain. My cats love it and so do I now that I don't have to worry about outages anymore.

Su agua se mantiene fresca

Me encanta que el agua se mantiene en movimiento. Y para mi perrito es un bien tamaño. Toma mucha agua y aún así no sirvo tan seguido. En ocasiones hace ruido, y la mayoría de las ocasiones es por que el agua está llegando a un nivel bajo. A pesar de eso, le doy cinco estrellas, por que me es muy funcional.

Plastic rubbish that broke immediately and wouldn't start again.

Me gustó mucho, estaba teniendo problemas con el bebedero tradicional y este me ayudó a que no se formen mosquitos ya que el agua esté siempre limpia y en movimiento. Además la forma es muy amigable con las mascotas.

Assembly was quite simple.Noise level is pretty good, I like the sound of a fountain so it could be louder and I still woudnt complain.Holds alot of water.Remembering back to fish tanks I was a little concerned with the pump acting like a heater and making the water turn warm after a while.This dosent seem to be the case. After days the water still feels cool and room temp.
