Medieval ReplicasHelmet Roman Centurion Armor With Plume

I was a bit skeptical when I placed an order for the helmet, but to my surprise it turned out to be a very nice piece. I bought it for my son along with the stand and little "beanie" cap to protect his head in the event he wanted to wear it. It is made fairly sturdy, but a few complaints I have are that the plume has two tiny screws which doesn't seem to be to secure. the helmet has an oil coating (I'm assuming to prevent rust) and the packaging looked like it had been thrown out of a window. The plus side is that the shipping was fast and it makes a nice decoration piece.

I am really pleased with this product, it is a good size (another helmet I bought elsewhere online is far too big), well made and looks great. I needed to get the seller to replace the plume as it had bent in posting but this was no hassle at all and they were fast and helpful. The metal crest piece fixes on with tiny screws so maybe file these or something if you plan on wearing it, shouldn't be a hassle.

Just got back from 2 weeks in Italy where stores were selling this same exact helmet for 2-3 times the price I got it on Amazon.com. The construction is solid and appears to be very true to original designs. The only only two complaints I have are that since this is a "one size fits most", the helmet is quite large, even for me and I have a large head! The other complaint is that the plume is secured by two small screws/nuts that "stick out" on the inside of the helmet quite a bit. This is not a problem when displaying the helmet but if you ever plan on putting it on your head these two screws go right into the top of your head. I understand that you are supposed to wear some type of padding under this helmet, but having two screws poking directly towards your head, even with padding. I'll solve this by simply grinding down the screw tips and since this will be primarily a display item, it should not be much of an issue. All in all I am VERY happy with this helmet and would purchase it again.

Came rusty trashy and used also took long time to come in also huge helmet with unstable screws VERY RUSTY and paint wearing off it's also very dented company denied refund too...

While the transverse crest (side-to-side) may not be as familiar as the one that goes front-to-back, this is actually how Roman centurions' helmets appeared during the Late Republic and Early Empire. This is a great replica that looks great on a stand or shelf, although I'd be hesitant to actually wear it because the two screws that fasten the crest to the helmet protrude quite a ways into the actual helmet. You could file them down or add some padding if you were going to wear this for a production or reenactment.This shipping was really fast and it was packed well.

This product I give 2 thumbs up. It is exactly what is shown on the photo and is definitely worth the price!!!! It looks just as good as the expensive $200 helmets i have seen on other websites. If your looking for a roman centurion helmet to wear for reinactments I prefer this one 100%. I am looking forward into ordering more from this business in the future!! Thanks RedSkyTrader!!! this is a beautiful and well made helmet. proud to have it in my home.

it was beautiful - fit well, real metal, but this one was obviously used and returned. Dented in spots, one side had been maybe broken off & reattached, it the reattached side looked rusty on the hinges. it's a cool helmet and feels real, but we didn't expect it to look like it had already been in battle. we returned it hoping to get a replacement, but the returns process didn't offer an exchange, just a send back for full refund. Four stars anyway because if yours arrives in new condition you will love it.
