Excellent 40th Anniversary Vinyl Copy!
Firstly its safe to say that the album itself needs no introduction or review! Whether you're an ABBA fan or not.It is arguably their greatest album (and together with 'Arrival') is my personal favourite. For me Bjorn & Benny reached the pinnacle of their songwriting prowess, with tracks like Andante Andante, The Piper, the brilliant Our Last Summer alongside the 3 singles released from the album. Indeed I have always maintained that Ulvaeus/Andersson should be included in the esteemed company the likes of Lennon/McCartney ; Holland/Dozier/Holland etc.Onto the product itself. The album has been recorded on to two 180g vinyl housed in a replica sleeve of the original 1980 LP release only in gatefold form, with the song lyrics printed on the inside. The back maintains the original track listing which may frustrate/disappoint some as opposed to the tracks as they now presented. The records themselves play at 45rpm as opposed to the usual LP speed. The vinyl being housed in rigid card inserts with colour photos of the group circa 1980 together with an informative printed piece on the album from Carl Magnus Palm. A Back To Black coupon with code is also included for anyone wishing an MP3 download.I have read several reviews regarding the poor quality of this release with many of the tracks having background hiss/crackles/pops etc.I have to say I did not find this one bit, both vinyl playing flawlessly with no ambient noise heard at all and nothing but silence between the individual tracks. The album sounded fabulous, as good as when I first heard it back in December 1980. Detailed mid-range and treble with deep bass when it was there. In fact maybe the only nit-picking I have is that I found some of the tracks ever so slightly 'bass-heavy' and had to reduce the Bass control on the amplifier. That aside, it sounded fabulous. I dusted of my original 40 year old copy and played it afterwards as comparison. I have to say I didn't find much between them (to my ears), this new remaster maybe having the edge on certain tracks. My system comprises Clearaudio Concept turntable with factory fitted cartridge; DENON PMA-1520AE amplifier & Monitor Audio's RS6 floorstanding speakers; with QED Revelation speaker cable connecting the lot together!I have been an ABBA fan since I was around 13 years old back in 1978 at the height of their success. I own all their albums from original vinyl copies through to remastered CDs etc, along with all their UK 7" single releases. My collection continues to grow. All that being said this is a worthy addition to said collection.Highly recommended.

Not a very good pressing on vinyl...
Nicely produced on vinyl, but I distinctly remember the original vinyl sounding better. This is not a very good pressing, which is disappointing.
