Textbook of Diagnostic Sonography: 2-Volume Set (TEXTBOOK OF DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASONOGRAPHY)

Best beginner book for ultrasound
This book is well organized. What I enjoyed most was the images and multiple drawings and charts that made ultrasound easier to understand. Some books for this subject do not include enough examples of images for the organ discussed. I definitely recommend this book to anyone just starting to learn ultrasound technology.

Useful
The chapters are somewhat long and drawn out, but it has what you need to know. The most irritating thing is that the words that are describing a picture are sometimes a page or two or three behind the page with the picture. That drives me crazy. I have also found some typos in it. For as expensive as it was, I do not like lots of mistakes. I do like the that it has a workbook that goes along with it.

It's not bad
This is a very detailed book on diagnostic sonography. I feel that sometimes it was over my head and required more explanation. I have used this book as a reference in some papers that I've written, and I've referred to it when I had questions. I would personally chose a text book with less information. This sometimes had more information that was needed and I found myself confused.

GOOD TEXTBOOK FOR DMS

Expensive. Disappointing.
This could have been a good textbook. About halfway through the first volume and have been disappointed to find that anatomic parts are mislabeled on some images -- possibly confusing to someone who has no other textbook or reliable sources to which to compare (Fig 12-5 for example mislabels common hepatic and left gastric arteries.) Other errors are probably just sloppy editing or sloppy original writing. One page 589, for example, the section on size states with "...with females having a slightly larger [thyroid] gland than males", then finishes the section by saying that "The [thyroid] volume in males is slightly greater than in females." Which one is it?There is too much redundancy in the book. Different sections of chapters are written by different authors who often repeat what was written by someone else earlier in the chapter. I am not certain what purpose this serves.

Comprehensive and expensive haha
Has grammatical and medical term errors. Some parts need editing: for example, one paragraph will say "..bla bla is ONLY hypoechoic" and then next paragraph about same thing " tends to be hyperechoic". Also, errors in max measurements: they tend to change based on the paragraph or part of the book. So it is a little confusing like that. Some images are really out of date...Please update with new technology!! Thanks :) Still a great teaching tool, and very comprehensive. Just need to do your work when it comes to details :)
