I got this for my girl cat Fiona for when I get her spayed so she don’t chew the stitches out. Obviously she doesn’t like it (what animal really likes these things haha) but she can lay down and get comfortable without a piece of hard plastic getting in the way. Great collar!

This was a great little collar for my kitten as she recovered from being spayed. We had it up Elizabethan style originally, but then switched it so she could see around her. Kept her from bothering her incision yet soft enough to allow her to sleep comfortably. Much better than the hard plastic one the vet gave her.

This is EXACTLY what I needed for my cat. I've purchased half a dozen of these "flexible" protective collars so my cat will stop licking at a wound on his neck. Most of them either were way too big for me to leave on him while I'm at work, or they weren't flexible enough to allow him to eat, drink, jump up or down, etc. THIS one does all of the above. He can go in and out of his cat door with it on, he can eat and drink with it on, he can jump up and down off of his favorite perches and he can sleep in any position he wants to and the collar keeps his wound protected and still allows him his freedom of movement. Soft and gentle, and does the job! So much better than the stiff, hard, heavy plastic cones. My little Maltese actually got a big bruise on her neck from the plastic cone after she was spayed. This soft cone does the same job, but is gentle and much more comfortable for pets to wear. And it works just as well; they are not able to reach stitches or hot spots with this cone. Washes easily. Love it!

It makes him look like Yosemite Sam, but that's good for a chuckle while the Cone of Shame does its job.Trim your cat's claws before applying this Elizabethan collar, so he doesn't have a toenail to snag in it, and manage that way to pull the cone off. The material of the drawstring is stiff, so it's hard to adjust the circumference of the collar.HOW TO MEASURE A CAT'S NECK: Lay a flexible measuring tape flat on the floor. Pick up the ends of it to make a hanging loop. Lasso the cat's neck with the hanging loop, and quickly draw the ends of the measuring tape across themselves to encircle the cat's neck snugly. Note the numbers that cross each other when the loop is snug, subtract the smaller number from the larger one, and add 1 inch (allowance for the 2-finger wiggle-room that's recommended).

I thought this recovery collar would be good because it is softer than a plastic recovery collar. My cat is able to walk along the wall until he pushes the collar back on one side so he can lick the hotspot on his inner hind leg. It is not hard enough to keep him from bending it around to keep on licking and opening up his sores. I am very disappointed, that this didn’t work. He has opened up his sores twice with this collar on. It’s just too soft and not enough support to keep from bending.

It is amazing how such a simplistic and minimal design is EXACTLY what I needed for my cat. She is not uncomfortable and she cannot disturb her surgical area. She suffered with the other cone and e collar options. This right here has done the trick and she is eating and relieving her bladder again. Thank you!
