The Rhinomed Mute Nasal Dilator for Snoring Reduction is a soft, pliable polymer stent that dilates your nose. Mute increases the volume of air travelling through the nose during sleep, encouraging nasal breathing to alleviate congestion – factors critical to help stop snoring and for a better quality of sleep. Mute has been proven in clinical trials to increase air flow through nasal passages, on average, up to 38% over nasal strips. Made from ultra-soft medical grade bio-compatible polymers conforming to the strictest medical standards, Mute stays in place throughout the night. Mute comes in three different sizes, and each device has individually adjustable left and right stents to further refine the fit. We recommend first buying the assorted size pack, which includes one of each size, to help determine which size offers the best fit for you. Mute nasal dilator units can be reused approximately ten times. FDA registered.

Great product if you want a nasal reconstruction
I am a physician. My wife ordered these without discussing with me. The cartilage that supports the skin that forms the nose ( called the alar cartilage) is quite delicate and easily dies if blood supply is compromised. The cartilage cells actually have no direct blood supply and rely on diffusion from adjacent tissue. These things compress the alar cartilage , putting the viability of that cartilage at risk. I would not use this poorly thought out product in a million years. Dealing with dead alar cartilage of the nose is a nightmare unless you don't mind having a hole in the middle of your face.

Works well - but not durable
They worked great for me - completely solved my snoring problem. I didn’t buy the trial pack, I just guessed at the medium size and they got fine. It does take a little while to get the hang of inserting them comfortably but once you do you won’t really feel them - they didn’t interfere with my sleep at all. My main complaint is that they do NOT last for 10 uses each as advertised. Once I wear one for 3-4 nights (5 max) the device seems to stretch such that it no longer stays in place and will fall out while I’m sleeping. Something to consider in terms of cost if you plan to use nightly.

I can tell immediately that I can breathe better after its I'm place
These definitely help with breathing more at night through my nose as well as does cut back my snoring. Least the woman tells me! My only complaint is I have no idea how but I have had nights where I wake up and this product has came out of my nose. I use the large size an it fits snug so I don't really know how it comes out sometimes. Not often but it does. Its not uncomfortable if you insert it properly an take the time to adjust it. I can tell immediately that I can breathe better after its I'm place. at least 20-25% better and that's a lot if you think about it let alone experience it.(IF YOU SUFFER FROM MIGRAINES READ THE FOLLOWING)I'm going to take a shot in the dark with this as well. I mainly bought this to help with migraine relief. I'm 26 and I've suffered from migraines since I can remember. I always wake up in the morning with them never get them randomly in the day. I've been to enough doctors as well as had enough test to be fed up. When you are told nothing is wrong with you its all in your head it really ticks you off. Especially for anyone who as suffered from migraines. I read into some articles online stating a lot of migraine suffers whom snore, wake up a lot through out the night, wake up with migraines, and or toss an turn through out the night may have obstructed breathing. I'm not getting a CPAP machine it just aint happening for me. Willing to try basically anything in my range of affordability I figured id add these into my nightly ritual for better sleep/migraine relief what the heck. I cant say this product alone fixed my issue but I can safely say it has helped. I stacked this with migravent (2x a day 1 morning, 1 before bed), Breathe right nasal strips, and a headache ease balm I rubbed on my temples, forehead, and back of neck before bed. Been over a few weeks close to a month and (knock on wood) I haven't had any extreme migraines since that have caused me to not be able to leave my bed or miss work etc. I have had headaches come on mid day but I believe those were stress related. Ive only had to use Excedrin once in the past month. Where I was getting 3-4 migraines a week. That's 1 a week for a month on average...... I figured id share my story because I know there has to be others like myself whom suffer from migraines. Is this a cure for me or anyone else probably not does it help. Yeah it does.

I had a very painful nasal procedure to widen the structure of my nasal ...
Don't pay any attention to previous reviews which ditz this product. I had a very painful nasal procedure to widen the structure of my nasal passages. Still, I could not breathe. I got the Mute and have not awakened once not able to breathe through my nose. I've used this for several months. Buy the trial size first to determine the size you'll need. Body size does not determine what you may need. I'm little but don't use the small one. Then, you'll know what to order from then on. Make sure you're putting them in correctly with the little notch up towards you eyes. The same one has lasted months but I'm so afraid it will break and I'll have a night with no sleep that I'm keeping them on hand.

The Mute is a Win/Win
I ordered the trial pack last week and started trying the dilators on. The small kept falling out, and the large gapped away from my nose by about 1/4 inch. At first the medium was uncomfortable, until I watched a YouTube video that taught me how to properly insert and adjust it for my nostrils. The first rush of air was amazing. No congestion, no blockage. I do not really remember how I slept, jut that I woke up in the same position that I went to sleep in. No fitful sleep! Did I snore? Don't know but I woke up rested and felt really good. The best part of it is the extra energy I had the next day. I was able to get more work done at the job and at home. My mood was also more hopeful and things just do not bother me as much. I think this comes from getting restful nights' sleep.I also use it when I exercise and get more oxygen. It is a win/win/ .

They seem to work for me
I’m not snoring; I’m dreaming I’m a motorcycle!I’ve been the recipient of a rather sharp elbow many times, because my wife insists I snore and keep her awake. I’ve tried a few different anti-snoring devices including nasal strips, dilators, mouth inserts and even a foul tasting foam that you squirt down your throat at night time (it made me gag and didn’t work)I bought these after seeing the same or similar product on TV presented by Eammon Holmes and his wife. I bought the trial pack first, which contains a small, medium and large size and established the best fit for me was the largest. Rather than the ‘basket’ style, these are quite narrow hoops. Each of these hoops can be individually adjusted for size to accommodate different nostril sizes which ensures a perfect fit. I then bought this pack of the large sized dilators, confident they would fit.Since starting to wear these, I’m told there has been a noticeable reduction in my snoring. I don’t find them uncomfortable to wear and, unlike the basket style, I find they stay put all night. As soon as they’re in, I can definitely feel an increase in the amount of air I’m drawing in with each breath. Even better, because they’re reusable they work out much more cost effective than the adhesive breathing strips.Whilst I appreciate they will not work for everyone because there are different causes of snoring, for me they have resulted in a definite improvement and I will continue using them. Why not 5 stars? Well, the adjustment isn’t very precise and it’s fiddly to get the sizing just right - it just takes a bit of trial and error and the adjustment paddles can feel a bit uncomfortable until the sizing is perfect. Absolutely worth a go if you’re a snorer and nostril dilation works for you.

Open up
The dilators are good at keeping the nostrils open and therefore maintain one's airway. I have found a slight tendency to soreness in and on my nose. I use a small amount of Sudocrem which alleviates this. There has been a reduction in snoring.

Not much difference
Fitted OK but agree with another reviewer very expensive for only 3 small pieces of silicone rubber with fancy packaging & if you can only use 10 times each this means it will cost £20 per month. Apparently (as I was asleep) it only reduces snoring by about 10% but I did not keep waking myself up so this was really the only good thing. I won't bother again, but worth a try if you're desperate & it may work for others .

AWESOME
got these yesterday, tried one last night..... and while NOTHING will stop me snoring, because I have sleep apnea...they helped me to breathe. OMG, I cannot go to sleep if I cannot breathe and while I AM still and will always be a mouth breather, when I turn over, which I do allot, wake up for various reasons, as long as I can breathe..I can go back to sleep! HIGHLY RECOMMMEND trying these!

Con
This didn’t reduce snoring at all. What a con! These silly wee disposable plastic things are a rip off price, playing on folks distress about sleepless nights. If they believed in it they would send you one free knowing you would always buy more. They can only be 10p to produce. Also I’ve got quite a big nose but hated the idea of wasting two of these in the trial pack so I got three medium size. The size is ok but it does wiggle out but is also uncomfortable. If I wanted better adhesion I’d need to go bigger by that would be even more painful to wear what a nightmare, that was an expensive and restless night but I still woke my partner with snoring at some point!
