I'm very happy with this reel. I bought it for my plunking setup for steelhead and coho paired with an Okuma Celilo 8'6 medium action rod. I got the reel through the warehouse deals and saved about $20 off the normal Amazon price, and it looked brand new as well as the box and had all the literature with it. I spooled it with almost 300yds of 30lb braid. It has the adjustable casting drag that I set with a 2 oz pyramid sinker and this reel cast flawlessly. It is very smooth, though I have yet to land a fish with it, I'm sure that it will be in the arsenal for many years to come. I have an Abu sx and daiwa lexa for comparison and think this reel is right on par with them."Dear God, when I die, please don't let my wife sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it"

If you are not very good with bait casters this is not the he reel for you I would save up the money and get the Shimano Calcutta Instead... is it more? Yes but it’s easier to adjust the brakes on the Calcutta and better made reel and plus it’s rated for saltwater as well... this is not a bad reel just it takes some getting use to

On April 9th, I purchased this reel for an annual fishing trip to Manitowsih Waters. When I received the reel, I added backer line, then spooled it with 80 lb braided line. I attached the reel to a 7'6" medium heavy muskie fishing pole with the plan to fish early season muskies on light tackle. I took enough casts to tighten the line to the reel. On May 29th, I arrived at my destination and began fishing. After about 20 casts, the line feeder stopped feeding line when casting out. This caused backlashes, birds nests in the line and inability to cast any amount of distance. Now, I have been using bait casting reels for many year, so I know how to use the back drag and my thumb to cast properly without getting backlashes. Without the reel working properly, it was nearly impossible to prevent. I have purchased many items from Amazon and their vendors with few issues. This will be the last time I purchase a fishing reel from Amazon. Very disappointing!

Smooth and acurate casting on half the budget. Although it doesn't compare to my Daiwa CL203 its well worth the money spend and a good alternative to travel with without worry about it being "stolen" or "misplace" good reel after you have upgraded the pawl.

Love this reel. Bought my first one 15 years ago for my flounder rod. Don't know why I waited so long to buy a second. Highly recommended!

I used this for an all day musky trip with absolutely no problems. I had it loaded with 80 power pro line. I was lucky enough to land a very heavy 40 inches and the reel handled it like a champ!

Brilliant reel , holds around 500 yards of 20lb line , can cast a long way with no signs of a Birdsnest thanks to the centrifugal breaks
