VADER Bicycle Cycling Bike Road Offroad MTB Bicycle Cycling Saddle Seat

I'm a budding cycling enthusiast. I only recently got my road bike and been steadily putting miles on it. This is a third seat that I bought for that bike.First was the stock seat. Didn't have relief cut-out in it, and after a longer ride, I felt very uncomfortable down there (I am a male).Second was "Planet Bike Men's A.R.S. Anatomic Relief Bicycle Saddle". Good seat but way too paddy for a more brisk pace. Was bouncing up and down on it. I would think its a great cruiser seat though.Third was "Planet Bike 5020 Men's ARS Standard Anatomic Relief Saddle with Gel" A definite improvement over the second, but I move on the seat quite a bit when I peddle. I seat a bit more forward when in a more relaxed position on tops, but then I scoot back a bit if I want to get into the wind and lower my torso. The sides of that seat started to chafe my inner thighs whenever I was scooting back on it.This seat, at least at the moment of writing this review and having only about 50 miles on it, is great! Narrow profile allows me to move my legs without rubbing against it. There is enough give in it to be very comfortable with cycling shorts and the relief cut-out is just enough for me not to experience any discomfort. Longest ride on this seat so far is 1 hour 30 minutes.Excellent seat.

I have tried some high end saddles by Specialized, Selle SMP, Fi'zi:k, and Selle Italia. After spending hundreds of dollars I was satisfied with the fit so I figured spending a few bucks to "rent" a saddle was worth the cost. This saddle by Vader fit my hiney like a glove. Saddle fit is a very subjective thing. Those who say this saddle is junk, well, they are full of junk. Perhaps a $300 saddle by Fi'zi:k would suit them. I have used this saddle for several years on my Cervelo R3, Jamis Beatnik, and Cannondale Jekyll. I have even taken this saddle with me on vacations when I have rented a road bike. Where the saddle is considerably less than perfect as an off-road saddle is in its durability. I took a spill on and one of the rails popped out and bent on impact. Because of this I'm giving it 4/5 stars. You could argue that for $10 bucks, well, you get $10 bucks. But a rail popping out should not happen.

Great saddle for extremely low price. I've used this on my fixed gear for a year and it's still holding up and no signs of wear yet. The padding is VERY thick and plush so it is perfect for fixed gear applications where you are putting a bit more pressure on your crotch since you cannot stand and coast or rest your legs or even road touring. I'm ordering 2 more for my mountain bike and road bike.(Note: The saddle rails are set quite a bit backwards compared to other road saddles. Also the saddle has a very high profile so you may find that when you swap saddles and sit on this one, you may need to drop your seat post 1/2 an inch or so.UPDATE: So I ordered another saddle and it seems they have changed their design. The new design has MUCH LESS padding and is firmer. It also has a slightly more curved top side then the previous version which was completely flat along the top. (think Fizik Antares VS Fizik Aliante). Side to side profile remains the same however.)

So far I've used this saddle for two rides. One for about 25 miles one for about 36. It really isn't any more or less comfortable than the saddle that came on my bike, but well into both rides, I noticed that I wasn't experiencing any of my usual soreness in my usual places, and the tingling, loss of circulation at certain points I normally get, was no longer present. This exactly what I was looking to relieve, and this saddle did that perfectly. Had it been more expensive, I probably would've given it four stars, but since it gave me exactly the relief I was looking for, and only cost $12, it definitely rates five stars. Also, one of the rides I took was quite muddy. The saddle cleaned easily, and looks like it is made from quality materials. I should mention, that I am using this saddle on a Giant road bike. It is about the same size, maybe even a little smaller than the stock seat and is very comfortable on a road bike. It even looks better on my bike than the original.

I love these saddles. I have then on 4 of my bikes. From road to mountain bike they were great and are inexpensive. Rather comfortable too. I spend a lot of time on the bike, but didn’t want to spend $150 on a saddle to have to mess with returning it two weeks later. Tried a few different Vader saddles, donated the ones I didn’t like and purchased ones that I did. For the price it was easier than the whole test saddle process at the shop.

Amazing seat. I have a severe lack of hind parts, and this seat was a terrific replacement. I had a GT Supersoft seat, and after about 5 miles, it seemed to be cutting off the blood flow to my legs. Even maintaining 12 MPH became a chore. Since replacing the Supersoft with this, this problem is gone. After about 10 unpadded miles I do start getting a bit sore, but it's nothing compared to what I was dealing with.The seat is not very padded, but the shape and design of it makes up for that and then some. It also has a lot of grip which I really wasn't expecting, but I like considerably. I plan on picking up two new bicycles by next spring, and I plan on putting one of these on each of them. You absolutely can't beat this for the price.

These seats aren't amazing but plenty good. I ride year round and have "spare" bikes. I don't want to spend $$$ on bikes I ride only occasionally. The 3 of these I ordered are replacing seats my new puppy destroyed. These are better than what they are replacing. I would definitely recommend and re-purchase these seats (saddle for the aficionados). Would I do a coast to coast ride on this, probably not (might try it though). But I am perfectly happy with them on my bar and beach cruiser.
