Russkies [1987] [Dutch Import]

God, I enjoyed that! Just fun :)

i first saw this movie about twenty years ago during the summer before i started high school and i loved it and i recently got it for my eleven year old son and he and his mum both enjoyed it when we all watched it togeather. it stars the now world famous joaquin phoenix (signs,gladiator) as one of three young lads who all live in a small florida town where there parents are in the military and because of this and it's 1987 they hate russians until that is a freindly russian sailor is washed up on the beach and hides in there base until they find him and at first want to turn him in but they soon realise he's just a nice guy and everything they had been told about the so called 'baddie' russkies might not be true but trouble soon starts when a couple of other comrade's of his come looking for him. the ending now i've grown up is a bit all american and corny but it's a feel good film which at the price is worth it and the subtitles on the dutch import are removable.

Enjoyable film from my younger years.
