Works Great
Put this on my garage door so I can play pool in the garage in the cold winter and hot summer. So far have only been able to test in cold and it works great. Probably keeps my garage 10° warmer with no heater. And now when I do run my space heater the heat actually stays in. I will let you know how it does keeping the heat out in summer. One note is the supplied tape does not stick all that well. It held fine for the installation, but after a day some areas began to come loose. It was a very easy fix... I just rolled back the edge a bit and ran a small bead of all purpose glue, problem solved. If you don't want to have to do that I would get some heavy duty double sided tape to do the installation.

Overall good, tape is terrible
The product seems to do it's job properly. It's easy to trim as needed, and putting it up wasn't bad at all.CONS: The tape that comes with it is some of the worst I've seen. It held up for only a couple of hours to the insulation itself. It held on the door fine, but not the insulation. HIGHLY recommend getting enough 3M tape to cover all parts of the door that need taped, measure how much you need and tape as much in long strips as you can to make it easier for peeling the backing off. I used the black 3M tape with the red backing.

Really lowered temps in Texas garage A LOT!
Overall, garage temps went from nearly 105-110 to 90-95 degree on 100 degree days. The garage door inside was nearly 130 degrees to the touch as it faced the afternoon sun directly. It just radiated heat into the garage. Now the inside of the garage door inside (insulation) just feels like the air temperature in the garage to the touch. No one would use the garage and now I have actually had the kids play in the garage, in the afternoon, with the door closed as its cooler than with the door open. Its still hot in there but its 10 to 15 degrees cooler than before on similar ~100 degree sunny days. It does make a lot of crinkly, crackly noise when opening an closing. I had to trim the seams where the door section meet a few times to keep it from binding. I recommend a sharp utility knife and shop scissors and a straight edge to make good cuts. Overall very satisfied and so far the double stick tape is holding. I have a pretty standard 4 panel, two car garage. We had a little left over on the length and the height.

1 hour 20 min installation with minimal tools!
Overall this is a good product and has greatly improved the heating situation in our garage. Installation took about 1 hour 20 mins. The whole system attaches to the garage with double face tape. I only needed help when it came time to roll the panels onto the tape for this double garage door. I just moved the door up and down as I installed to save my back and to avoid using a step ladder when possible. The silver panels form a nice solid barrier when installed correctly.I would think most people are buying this because it has already turned colder outside so I encourage you to install this during the warmest part of the day or to heat up your garage to the best of your ability before you start so the tape will adhere and you can feel your fingers to pull the backing off the tape.Tools required where a rag to clean the door, a pair of heavy kitchen scissors, a step ladder and some patience because pulling the paper off the back of all that double face tape can be challenging when it’s cold outside. These four installation panels don’t ride inside the frame of the door. They actually stick to the outside edges of the door. The instructions are on the outside of the carton it comes in. I was able to feel the difference in the garage after applying the first two panels! When the door opens and closes it does makes little “snap crackle pops” from the installation it it has not come loose.

Insulation does not stick to tape
Whatever you do, install only one panel first! Give it time to see how it works. The tape supplied sticks to the garage door fine but isn’t sticking to the insulation, in other words this is not a surface preparation issue on my part, it’s a product defect. I’m buying some metal screws to see how that works since I still like the idea and could immediately feel the difference in radiant heat with even one panel up.Update: Probably overkill but I used #6 1/2" self-tapping metal screws with washers to fasten the insulation onto the garage door. The screws worked really well with a driver - drill for a few seconds with moderate force and they go on through. Honestly it took less time to screw the insulation on than tape it! Also the tape really required two people to line everything up. Tip: Use some duct tape to hold the insulation in place while putting in the screws. Adding a star since the insulation works great, they just need better tape, at least for hot climates like Arizona.

It works well enough to feel a difference.
In SWFL it gets hot in the garage during the summers. I bought this to help keep a more bearable temperature in the garage. My adult son did the installation.Since I have a hurricane garage door, it has horizontal braces that need to come off before you install this product.I do suggest a better double sided tape. The kind it comes with is ok, but not super sticky. The material is like bubble wrap, with a shinny metallic looking membrane on both sides. It’s slightly stiffer than just bubble wrap, and is lightweight.Installation will go faster with 2 people, however one person can attach this by themselves. We have noticed a difference in the temperature, especially if the door is kept shut all day. If you are opening your garage door multiple times during the day, you may not notice a difference. After we installed it, I was thinking we’d probably would have noticed a bigger difference if we put the foam type insulation up first, then installed this .I can not speak to how it will work in colder temperatures, since we don’t usually see temperatures lower than the mid 30’s in the winter.
