Did a complete rebuild on my CAT 31 G pump which I believe is a also considered a #5 frame.I found the OEM Cat seals kit from a different supplier. My pump, like most other Cat pumps, requires 2 valve kits (a total,of 6 individual valves) so I'm not sure why they don't sell these in a 6 pack. These valves are a non-Cat brand but appear to be identical when I compared them to the originals. I found some PDF technical info from the Cat Pump website which I relied upon for proper installation. I suggest having this info on hand before attempting the pump rebuild. Not only to see proper assembly order but there are a few specific lubricants, sealers and a retaining nut socket tool that CAT specifies so you'll need to purchase these and have them on hand. A special socket tool is required to prevent distorting and damaging the soft brass of the pump. I was able to make a simple spanner-type socket tool but it definitely is a must have item to prevent permanent damage. CAT also has some online videos that are great to give you a visual step by step. Even though my pump is different from the ones I watched, the parts and assembly methods are the same or very similar. There were a few steps that show little tricks for lining up the pistons and knocking assemblies loose so take the time to watch them if it's your first attempt at a pump,rebuild.
