Q: Why does the description talk about Red Heart Magical yarn?

No idea, but I've bought 2 of these hooks so far and now I want my MAGICAL YARN!! lol :)

Q: Is the hook steel or aluminum? The a 1.5 mm is gold tipped and makes a big difference but the 2 mm I received is not. Is that your experience?

hook is steel with no gold tip. It still is very smooth and did not have any problem with the yarn/thread snagging. I hope this helps.

Actually, they have both sizes...The Tulip 2/0 is the 2.00 mm and the Tulip 3/0 is the 2.20 mm hook. Hope this helps.
