The Neverending Story / The Neverending Story II

As a Gen X, this was my favorite movie. As a child, my favorite movie is a teen, and my favorite movie is an adult. I have no introduce my child to the story.

Got this for my father for Christmas. He never got the chance to watch it but this was his favorite gift from his last Christmas.

Enjoyment

I saw the first film before high school, and the sequel came out at the end of college. Both films follow the plot and themes of the Michael Ende book of the same title. Ende's fantasy novel is originally published in Germany, where the country's Green Party considers it (or considered it) their eco-friendly bible. Defend imagination.

My cousin who is 12 has never seen the NeverEnding Story, so I tried finding the movie on other outlets and this was the cheapest option available.I paid $5 for the DVD bought from Amazon. It's very simple...has the antipiracy warning at the beginning that you can't fast forward through, and then a menu with just the first or second movie options. The movie plays O.K. and the quality of the video is as expected.The box on the other hand is questionable...The image for the cover seems cheap and the outline of the images are sort of blurred....but it has a bar code on the back. When you open the cover, the paper is right behind the plastic holding the disc. I guess this is all to decrease production cost. The last time I bought DVDs for cheap from Wal-Mart the cases were better, though at this point, maybe it's better to just toss the case anyway.I had some issues fast forwarding/rewinding using my DVD player remote, which is a problem with my player, but I somehow skipped over to the next movie. I can't replicate it...but maybe if other people can't find the second movie on their DVD they can press a bunch of buttons and maybe get there randomly.We were able to get to the second movie using the disc menu. There are DVD chapters but you can't navigate to them from a menu. You can also return to the disc menu using the remote.I would probably give this 4 stars if it had more menu options and I would give it 5 stars if the cover wasn't so weird. For the price, if you want to watch the movie and don't want to pay for a rental I guess $5 isn't so bad for what you get.

They worked great. I love these movies and now my son does too.

Two movies for the price of one. Great family movie. The sequel tried too hard to mimic the theme of the original.

It looks like it took a "neverending" amount of time, but it has finally happened! The "Neverending Story" and the "Neverending Story II-The Next Chapter" has finally been released on DVD! So what if it isn't widescreen? It would be great to skip to any scene in the movie and see it. I have had these movies (on VHS) since I was a little kid, which was in the 1980's. Now, even though I still have them on VHS and they work perfectly, I may still purchase them again on DVD! If you like fantasy, you'll love this. Please, ignore those 1,2,or 3 star reviews. This deserves 4 stars at the minimum, and it would only lose a star with me if the bonus features weren't that good. However, considering that these movies were released in the 1980's, you must take that into consideration. My favorite movie, Disney's "Flight of the Navigator," I have on DVD and it doesn't have any bonus features. Yet, I still gave it five stars (see my review for that movie). So, if it's bonus features you're after, don't buy this. You'll be disappointed. If it's a great fantasy film (films in this case) that you are after, go for it. Great price too. Just do it!

Didn’t see that it wasn’t compatible with UK dvdsIt also didn’t have a proper cover and label was just printed. Didn’t look as original!

Yes this product took nearly 6 weeks to arrive bit confusing as its meant to be a Double disc took a while too realise that it was a Double sided disc but its not a genuine copy as the pics shady and well done for afford but u can tell its a fame copy as the paper is a a4 prontas peice of paper

Works fine in my UK player which I got the multiregion code for online ages ago.
