I bought this book to see the other side of the two mens epic journey.I had read Che Guevaras own account in his "Motor cycle diaries".If you are into reading about the journeys of Guevara throughout his life, this book is an important addition.It shows the loyal friendship both men had through good and bad times.Guevara had bad asthma and in my view, would not have survived this epic road trip with his trusty Doctor friend beside him to offer frequent medical assistance.A really good read.

This books give a great understanding of the trip that Ernesto and Alfredo did.And how it affected them.You understand much better, what happened later.

If you have read the 'Motorcycle Diaries' then this is an obvious read to sit alongside. Alberto gives further insight into the journey he and Ernesto took across South America, and where Ernesto's book fades into the ether Alberto gives a clearer picture of what happened when the two went their separate ways. This book, I think, lacks some of the social reflection that Guevara provided in his book, but nevertheless is a good read.

The copy I received hasa different cover and slighly different title to that which is advertised. The sell should change the photo really. I bought this for a friend so haven't read it but the description sounds great and I'm interested in reading it myself now too.

Thoroughly enjoyable read - nothing too political but with moments of tragic reflection that would make the most hard line capitalist think.If you enjoy this try Dervla Murphy's Eight Feet in the Andes.
