I purchased the M8 size rivnuts in stainless. I'm using them as anchors in the deck of my Aluma flatbed trailer where I attach my ratchet straps. You don't need any special tools to use these rivnuts. Install went fine using a correctly-sized drill bit, two box wrenches, a long hexhead M8 bolt, a nut and a flat washer. If you don't know about this install technique, search on you tube. Anchors held perfectly on a 2400-mile trip with four ratchet straps (anchored with one rivnut each) securing a 1000-lb load.

They installed easily with a special tool.
