Great still
Got this a bit back to get the wife and son to watch (they get bored of all the filler even though I love the originals). Worked a treat! All the great action and story without all the filler content, if you want all the filler the full versions are now coming to bluray or you can buy the dvds, but I think any DBZ fan can still enjoy this fully.

Awesome Blu Ray but prefer original series
Ordered this to add to my DBZ collection after seeing previews on the net and its a brilliant anime series especially as its in blu ray. Although its and import from America it is region free which is good.Overall good service from Amazon as always with price, shipping and everything else that they do. compared to the original series this doesnt really excite me, they have only redrawn parts of the film that was really damaged and that isnt the detail of what the Japanese put into the original graphics, although they have lightened up the colours and cleaned the film up the fact that they have cut loads out of the series like the famous "its over 9000 scene" as it only went to 8000 and gohan being trained by piccolo, plus they totally didnt even bother with anything after the cell saga so no remastered buu saga.so dont bother watching this unless you have seen the original version first. but then if you watch this after the original you will probably turn it off as you can tell the the parts tey took out and done a rubbish re colour on.

Its good
Its good what I would say thou is they could have took out the opening titles and closing credits after every episode but it looks great and sounds great and my copy can skip now and again a few seconds a piece and the outer case was a little damaged when i got it but overall its great but i think im going to buy the sagas one by one.

Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season One
Funimation has been throwing around Dragon Ball Z releases for years from Volume sets to those hopefully forgotten Orange bricks sets. So what makes this new release any different from the rest?Well this isn't the original Dragon Ball Z TV Show but a "Refreshed" edition of the show. Dragon Ball Z Kai takes to the vision of the Manga. Kai brilliantly removes all the filler from the original TV Show allowing a more faster and action packed story. For example the Garlic Jr Arc has been removed as it was not presented in the manga in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Not only that but the show is presented in a Full HD 1080p resolution [480p for DVD] with a complete dirt clean up giving it a whole new viewing experience. The show runs for a total of 98 episodes finishing off at the end of the Cell Games. One of the main attractions to the English version of this show is it's Dub. The English Dub keeps strict to the Japanese Dialogue and story unlike the English version of Dragon Ball Z. Not only does the English version contain a shiny new dub but the Japanese version has also been re-recorded. However the English Dub is presented in Dolby True HD 5.1 whereas the Japanese version is Dolby True HD 2.0. For the DVD version, the audio format is presented in "Dolby Digital"It should be noted that this Season Set uses Kenji's Yamamoto's Score despite indicting on the box Shunsuke Kikuchi's Score. So for people who want to see a fast paced Dragon Ball Z in High Definition with a true to the script English Dub then this is the set for you.Features:Episodes 1 - 26 on 4 DiscsEnglish Dolby True HD 5.1 [Dolby Digital 5.1 for DVD Version]Japanese Dolby True HD 2.0 [Dolby Digital 2.0 for DVD Version]English Subtitles4:3 Full 1080p HD [4:3 480p for DVD]Blu-Ray Region: A & B. This Blu-Ray Disc will work on UK Blu-Ray PlayersDVD Region: 1. Requires a Region 1 or Multi-Regional DVD Player to play.

Region Free It is Region Free Please Read
If anyone is wondering is this is region free then it is (well not completely) it's will work on a American blu ray player and a uk blu ray player if you read this review and buy the item, and then try to play it and it doesn't work it's not my fault because I have read lots of reviews and gone on websites, such as blu ray.com, and it says yes it will play on a us and uk blu ray player, although I think I'm not sure that theDVD version works on uk DVD player unless you have a multi region (region free) DVD player. I have ordered this item so if it doesn't work I will put up another review saying it doesn't work, but I'm pretty sure it does work although dont beleive me 100 percent. Season 1 and 2 have been released so far, although it might take a while for season 3 and 4 to be released but it is worth waitingThanks for reading!Amazon will not let me putTwo reviews so I will say IT WORKS!!!!!! I wrote the original review on 28th may 2012 I wrote this review on the 9th June 2012 I am not a nerd I am a big dbz fan
