The Mexican

Pitt and Roberts do Mexico
An entertaining and light-hearted romp through scruffy, gangland Mexico, this edgy rom-com pairs Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts and they both validate their status as two of Hollywood's most bankable stars. The convoluted plot -- made more complex by some needlessly discursive back-story flash-backs -- centers on a priceless, antique pistol and the ruthless efforts of various bad guys to obtain it. The rollicking chase leads south of the border and tests the durability of the two stars' turbulent romance. James Gandolfini shows up and has a memorable performance. So does the seemingly eternal Gene Hackman. The script sparkles, but it's mostly the Pitt-Roberts chemistry that lights up the screen. Check it out.

Never A Dull Moment
Terrific flick with a great script, solid acting, and much more. The cast is awesome and they pull every effort as needed to make this film such a success. Brad Pitt shines!

When one of the supporting characters is so much better than both the leads...
The movie was entertaining, but I gotta say, that Leroy/Winston guy (played masterfully by James Gandolfini) made the movie for me, he is freaking FANTASTIC. He elevated the movie with heart, tenderness, complexity and humor. Roberts and Pitt were good doing their thing, the lore of the gun is pretty cool, but the hitman was the true highlight for me.

Tears of joy at the end LOVE IT!
Julia Roberts was so frustrating with her babling on when she couldn't get it together, I end up saying get rid of her, she was getting on my nerves. That was the only part that I hated. I loved the dog and at the end he always had a home. I almost changed the movie because I don't like watching movies with animals because they always end up hurt. I let it ride because of the actors maybe thinking with those two they wouldn't stand for letting a animal get hurt, I stayed tune.

very entertaining
May not be an epic master piece, but this movie is not bad at all. If you put Tarratino and Robin Williams in the same room and make them come up with a movie this is what you will get. A smart action comedy that is right up there with Grosse Point Blank and the Whole nine yards. I cant believe that so many people despise it. I give it atleast 3.75 to 4 stars easily. If you want to sit down a sip some tequila and have a good time, I reccomend this movie. Now if you want to nit pick and gripe about a movies imperfections all day I still reccomend it, after all its not my fault you got bad taste. dont pay attention to all the bad pub though not a classic its no way near deserving of 1 star not even 2. Oh well everybody has the right to their simple minded opnion. No I meant close minded, or did I mean both? I have to be politicly correct right? NOT!!!!

Wonderful film, OK Blu Ray.
I only saw this film recently on DVD, and was that enamoured with it, I immediately purchased the Blu Ray.The film is quite frankly, hugely underrated in my eyes, great performances all round and a unique storyline really make it stand out, and I don't understand why it isn't more highly thought of.Now to the disc itself. Whilst there is a reasonable improvement in detail, there is quite a lot of grain which wasn't apparent on the DVD. The DTS soundtrack appears to be the same one that was in my Region 1 DVD.Is it worth the upgrade? If you're a fan of the film, I'd say yes, just don't expect perfection. This is definitely a film that could do with a remaster.

A very interseting movie thats even better on blu ray
The Mexican is a very good movie in my opinion. Interesting story and great actors like Brad Pit, Julia Roberts and James Gandolfini from ( Sopranos). Its a German release but it includes English DTS HD 5.1 sound as well. Picture quality is great as well. I loved the dvd so decided to invest on the blu ray as well. If you love this movie get it as you will love it more on blu ray.

'El Camino'
A very enjoyable film, and the late James Gandolfini certainly steals the scenes he is in, and also starring a youthful looking Julia Roberts too, great entertainment, with a surprise appearance of the great Gene Hackman at the end.

Great story - well told!
This is a fantastic film that has something for everyone - it's funny, it's moving, it's exciting and it's well acted, a gripping story with some excellent twists and beautifully filmed. You will bond with the characters quickly and be desperate to know how it all works out right till the last second.
