S.H. Churchill & Co.White Pique Vest & Bow Tie

It comes with a note that specifically says the waistcoat comes rolled up and not folded to avoid a crease...the waistcoat comes neatly FOLDED around that piece of paper. Had to set the iron to the max and press the steam button constantly to get rid of that crease but it worked at the end. It comes with a really nice self-tie bow tie which you'll probably have to cut shorter as it's too long for a regular sized person. Overall, really satisfied with this purchase.

The set came with a pretty little notice explaining why it was rolled and not folded - but it was folded. Also the pique fabric is not of quality. You get what you pay for. This has tons of little micro threads popping out of it all over. Not the worst you can have, but if you really need to look the part, just drop the money for the good stuff.

Attached to this product came a note explaining that S. H. Churchill & Co. ships it’s products rolled up so as not to create creases that “can’t be ironed out” - this however is not how the product was packaged. It came folded squarely in a plastic bag, exactly what the company said they wouldn’t do, and as predicted there is a gigantic crease in the middle that may not be removable. Only time will tell I guess. Otherwise the product seems fine.

This item came exactly as described, with a vest and self-tie bow tie. Unfortunately, the bow tie was approximately 2" too long. Normally I wear a 15.5" bow tie, but even with this tie racheted all the way down to its smallest setting (13.75") it was too long. Luckily all I had to do was cut two inches off of the tie and resew it so it fits better. Also, the hardware for adjusting the tie is a little cumbersome to get it adjusted. . . luckily tie size does not change too often!

It was very well made. I put it on him too soon though. Shortly after dressing my son, we have about an hour+ wait till our formal event. He quick;y found something to get the pants dirty....dress the little guy in white right before!

What was sent to me was not new. I’ve seen and ordered Churchill vests before. Their products are fine, the fit of the backless vest can be problematic but this time the vest was not rolled but stuffed into a small bag. The first button was loose, the vest and tie were both crumpled and the overall color was dull instead of the bright white it should have been.It was unacceptable in every way I’m returning it. I wondered aloud if this is an outside vendor that supplies this vest or was it direct from Churchill itself. I’ve been a customer of Amazon for many years and I’ve returned items before usually for reasons of fit, delivery damage or lateness, infidelity to ad copy, photography etc - all conditions that may arise due to distance. I view this as an attempt to sell a used or returned item as new. If you want to sell previously owned merchandise, say so - then the buyer can choose.My opinion is anyone could see upon receipt that this item was not in new or suitable condition to be sold as new…The adjectives used to describe this vest demand crisp, bright whiteness e.g. newness. Going to a white tie dinner, I’d prefer buying a new vest in proper condition to trying to “straighten out” what I was sent…

I received the product on time and as advertised. Material seems very good. Every now and again I am required to dress in white tie and tails and this, just part of my order, will let me stop paying for a rental.

Good quality material, have not worn yet.
