Samsung DC96-00887C Genuine OEM Thermal Cut-Off Fuse and Bracket for Samsung Dryers

I installed about a month ago and so far everything still running as it should.

Payed extra to have an OEM part and to arrive the next day. I received neither. Part was a day late and does not appear to be an OEM part.

Most of the online troubleshooting advice says the heating element causes the vast majority of Samsung no heat problems. In our case, the heating element was good (the coil measured 10 ohms). Also had good continuity through the thermostat (thermostat is located between the thermal cut-off and the input connector for the heating element). However, there was no continuity (an open) when measuring resistance between the two contacts on the thermal cut-off fuse (should have had zero ohms--full continuity). Replaced the thermal cut-off fuse. Our dryer now heats properly. There are several youtube videos that show you how to remove the heating element (and thermal cut-off fuse). We found the one by jeffostroff especially helpful.

Installed yesterday and have ran multiple loads so far with no issues. Decided to buy this OEM part versus some of the 3rd party ones because I did not trust them. Its a little extra in cost but I feel a bit more confident it will last longer. Replacing this part myself saved hundreds + a lot of time versus dealing with a repair man. If you look at the cost of new dryers I basically saved $700-$1000 if we would have decided to buy a new one instead. Dryers are pretty simple devices with major mark ups.

Was fixing the entire heating element, fuse, switch and housing on my Samsung dryer for the 2nd time but decided to follow a suggestion from a you tube video and tried just this first. Was easy to do (coming from a female that had already figured out how to take the dryer apart to change the whole element, fuse, switch and housing once) and cheap fix!!! I was so excited I told everyone about my repair achievement that saved a ton of money because I was trying one more time before I gave up completely on my Samsung dryer. Oh a useful tip, I used the multimeter (that I also had to you tube to know how to use) on it straight out of the box as others had recommended and it was good worth it. It's been 2 months so far and dryer is still going strong.

THIS IS NOT AN OEM PART! I initiated a refund request as soon as I opened the package. Amazon allows these sellers to mimic a Samsung listing with a false picture and claims of it being an OEM part, why do they let this happen? I did not install this part because I know they are junk. If I install this in a customer's dryer I know for a fact that I will be back, on my dime, to replace with a Samsung part. They do not last because they are made with the same chinese materials that everything else is that we get from over there. Save your time, money and frustration and buy the OEM Samsung part.

Far from easy to install--but that's just because of how the Samsung dryer is put together, not because of the part. MUCH easier to replace that than to fork over $500+ for a new dryer. According to Consumer Reports and other reviews, Samsung dryers are known for bad thermostats causing the heating element to go, so we probably should have ordered an extra. We replaced the thermostat about a month ago and I think the dryer is working better now than it ever did.

Completely garbage and not even oem sensors just cheap knockoff. Not the one pictured or decribed. First time ordering i recieved oem sensor like in product photo. Second order i recieved this cheap substitute. SCAM
