Jersey Boys: The Story of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons

The book itself gets 5 stars, but my copy was used and was slightly damaged. The outside of the book was more worn than I expected. But, the inside contents were very well taken care of. This is the only reason for 4 stars.This is such a cool insight into the world of the Four Seasons and of the creation of the broadway show. After seeing the film "Jersey Boys" that was released this year, and never being able to see the stage show, I wanted to see more of the original sensation and of John Lloyd Young. He amazes me and I wanted to discover more about his journey and performance. This is a wonderful companion and provided so much more than I imagined about everything Four Seasons.

I received a ticket to see Jersey Boys with the show playing in New Orleans. The Four Seasons were one of my favorite groups and I adored Frankie Valli. No one seemed to expound on their popularity and I did not understand why this was so. I remember when they had all the top hits on American Bandstand. Then came the Beatles and total insanity wherever they played, but the Four Seasons were forgotten. When Frankie Valli sang "My Eyes Adored You", I was sure they'd be noticed, but no.The show was fantastic and took the viewers back to the fifties and sixties realistically.May they finally receive the fame they should've received years ago.

Ever since I saw Jersey Boys I have been obsessed with the Four Seasons! I pre-ordered this book when it was announced and I was not disappointed. Since I am in my mid 30's, I didn't get to see them in their prime. I never really paid much attention to them and didn't realize I knew so many of their songs until I saw the play. This book gave a lot of insights not only to the Four Seasons themselves, but also to the development and production of Jersey Boys. It is put together in a fun and easy to read format and is filled with tons of information and trivia. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I saw a touring production of "Jersey Boys" in my home state, Arizona. I decided to get this book for a friend of mine who doesn't love musicals like I do, but wanted to see this show because she and her husband grew up with the music of the real Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. For me the musical was interestingg, an intriguing look at the Fopur Seasons, and why they hit so quickly, but I disliked theprofane Jersey language, so I give this four stars.

I'm finding this book to be a fascinating read. I love the different prespective on things. The only thing missing is Tommy DeVito's take on all of this but since he wasn't involved in any way with creating the show you don't get his take on it unfortunately. It gives you a little more insight on what took place than what the story in the musical can give you. I'm planning on having the First National Tour sign mine when I see the show again soon.If you're a Jersey Boys fan this is must have for one's collection!

I have seen the Las Vegas production of "Jersey Boys" twice (so far)since it opened there spring of 2008. I looked at this book in the theater gift shop and knew I had to have it. I think anyone who has seen this wonderful show or even fans of the Four Seasons (who SHOULD see the show) would enjoy reading through this generously illustrated companion book.It covers the story of the original Four Seasons, as well as the genesis of their saga into this brilliant, compelling musical. It is almost like seeing the show again.

This is a great, must-have for any Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons fans! I saw the play about two weeks ago and loved every minute of it! This book has insiders info and stories about how the play was developed, back-stories on the original members, and has pictures of the originals and of the Broadway production! The script is even included! So, if you want to re-live the production, you can read the script over and over again! :) I love this book! I love the Jersey Boys!

After seeing the musical on Broadway, I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He enjoyed it, but be advised that a good part of the book is information on the musical itself, rather than about the singing group Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. Still a very good read for those who are fans or have enjoyed "Jersey Boys."

I should have read the description more carefully before buying, I didn't realise over half this book is about the stage play. What little info there is about the band is in the form of comments from each member, which when arranged into chronological sequence provide a kind of historical narrative, but there is little in the way of background and nothing in-depth. Having said that this book is superior to the Jennifer Warner effort and appears to be the most comprehensive account available.A few nice photos and some interesting facts but skipping the content about the musical took only an hour to read.If you're looking for a biography there is not really enough here to get your teeth into.
