RAV315 Replace Remote Control fit for Yamaha AV Receiver Home Audio RX-V461 RX-V561 377 640 WN22730 EU RAV311 HTR-6040 HTR-6050 HTR-6230

Bought a used Yamaha RX V650 in very nice shape at a thrift store dirt cheap. Had all the features I needed to do a soft upgrade to my old system. Got it home only to find out that in order to access all of its programming features you have to have the remote that originally came with it. After some research found this one. The button layout is only slightly different but everything does correspond. Able to find the manual for this remote online (helpful for programing additional pieces of equipment to the amp) as well as the manual for the receiver. Everything worked great out of the box.

We took the risk and it worked. I had bought my husband a sound system many years ago but finding the exact remote replacement wasn't working. This was very close in looks but his had other options like XM radio and something else but really he just wanted to be able to control the power and volume and change the station when needed from across the garage. While this does not have the XM button it does have a mode and saved stations so there may be a work around for it but since we don't use it for XM we can not really test it. The main thing was to control volume and power from across the garage and it does that.

For under 10 bucks, it is what you would expect. Feels light and a bit cheaper than the factory remote. Most of the buttons function correctly. Turns the Device ON & OFF, allows you to select various inputs, adjust the volume, and select your radio presets. Unfortunately it is not a 1 for 1 replacement as I can not get it to tune the radio. I also found that a few buttons doubled as other buttons. The Enter button in the center will toggle mute and the up and down preset/ch buttons will adjust the volume. I am using the remote for a Yamaha HTR-6030. The receiver is older so I was happy to give it a second life in the garage for listening to music (tuner) and audio output (dtv/cbl over optical) for the tv I have above the workbench. I will test it some more when I fire up the heater and spend some more time out there, but for now I would say it is a usable replacement.

I like it, but it doesn't seem to control a lot of the functions of the receiver. I am still working my way through it though. I will revert when I figure out its capacity.

Only 3 Buttons work the On/Off and the Up/Down Volume Buttons and you have to be within 3’ of the Receiver.

This remote does what we wanted it to.

I have a Yamaha surround sound system from 2009. Still pristine and the remote has been used only a few times. It's still somewhere in the house... just have no idea where. So this was purchased and it does the job very well... price is right, too!
