Great shoes for walking riverbeds and swimming. Sharp rocks are no problem
I bought these shoes to replace a pair of water shoes that were starting to deteriorate and were really uncomfortable. It took an hour or so of having these on until I got used to the 3 toe pockets. Initially I was concerned they wouldn't fit my toes. My second toe is longer than my big toe, then the last 3 are all much shorter and sort of curl under. Was not a problem with these shoes and once you get used to the feeling of the material between your first 3 toes they are pretty comfy. There is a velcro strap over the instep, as well as a cinch strap behind the heel, so you can get these pretty well adjusted to your feet. I liked the adjustments, since most water shoes I have had in the past never seem to fit well. These are MUCH wider than a normal "shoe" style shoe. I found it to be a big help in the water. The wider toe-box offset the disadvantage of swimming in water with shoes on- the shape ends up being almost like a mini fin. I could swim as good or better than if I had been barefoot. I have a 4 and 5 year old that wear life preservers and I swim around with. With these shoes on there were no problems keeping up with them (or treading water when they were trying to drown me). They also did fairly well walking along the riverbank and river bottoms. The area I am in has a lot of flint, and flakes can be razor sharp (this is the stuff arrowheads were made of). The sole protected me from any cuts or scrapes and I had no issues stepping on branches or with thorns. The shoes are more of a barefoot style- the soles are extremely flexible and don't really provide any support. If you are unaccustomed to the this type of shoe and want to use them for anything other than swimming you may need a transitional period. When you step on an object (rock, tree branch, etc.) the shoe is going to flex around it. You will feel the edges and points of the object. It won't penetrate the shoe, but if you are on uneven terrain (such as a rock riverbed) your feet may get sore after awhile. I prefer to go barefoot and wear this style shoe so I had no issues with it, but something to be aware of. If you are on sandy beaches, mostly in a kayak, or swimming, this won't be as much of an issue.Bottom Line- These were exactly what I needed in a water shoe for river use and when these are worn out I will buy the same model as replacements.

Entry is Tight - Very Snug Fit
I wear a size 11 in most tennis and hiking shoes. The size of the footbed is pretty true to size but the top portion of the shoe where your foot enters the shoe and exits is very tight. I had to struggle a little to get the shoe on my foot. I have a high in-step. Once on my feet I found the shoes are comfortable with a good amount of support. More support than other aqua shoes that I have owned. The sole provides good grip on wet surfaces, and I like the fact that the shoe has drainage holes in the bottom of the sole. Good quality materials are used, time will tell how durable the shoe is.

Great fit, perfect outdoor water shoes!
These are so much more comfortable than any other water shoe I've used. They will be perfect for paddle boarding and river ratting it up next year!

Hurt between first and second toes.
I wear a size 11, and these shoes are really nice and well made. The only issue I had was that I felt pain between my big toe and 2nd toe. This may be fixed with a slightly larger size.

Great Shoes for River/Lake Activities
I've been using these shoes whenever taking my paddleboard out on the local rivers, and they have been perfect for that activity. I'm able to easily stand on the paddleboard with them without losing any of the dexterity or balance needed to stay upright, and they grip the wet surface of the board firmly. When getting in/out of the water with the board, or when falling/just getting into the water, I don't need to worry about stepping on rocks or wildlife or whatever other random sharp objects you might find at the bottom of a river. The bottoms of the shoes are thick, and nothing I've stepped on has ever come close to feeling uncomfortable to my feet. They are also the easiest type of footwear I have ever tried to swim in, and make for great locker room shoes when going to the pool at my gym. Excellent purchase!

Don't Buy - Absolutely TERRIBLE Quality Control - Waited Too Long to Return
What a great water shoe design - ruined by totally awful quality control and manufacturing. My wife got these for me and they sat in the box for about a month until we had a chance to go to the lake. I wore them ONE weekend, for a total of about 6 hours and they're already pulling apart at the seams. See images. The super-important rear seam and stitching that holds the draw string came loose in about an hour. Other seams also pulled apart. Note we are in FRESH water in North Texas and not in the ocean. So this is completely crummy quality not anything to do with us.Another big issue with these is that there is NO tab at the back for helping to pull them on as you'll find with other competitive water shoes. That makes it even worse when the material is already pulling loose. You need a shoe horn to put them on. To make matters worse, I waited too long to return these as I didn't look at them close enough, trusting that the Body Glove brand was top notch. I sure got ripped-off.

Different than Vibram 5 Fingers but good
I tried these 3T barefoot as an alternative to the Vibram 5 Fingers. Both are good. These are sturdier than my 5 Fingers V-Aqua in terms of feel and thickness of materials . Whether they are more durable or not is TBD, but they have a more substantial sole making it easier to walk on rough surfaces. Grouping the three small toes together makes them easier to put on and minimizes the problem of stubbing the small toe, although I really have not had a problem with my 5 Fingers. On the other hand my 5 Finger V-Aquas are super light and much more like being barefoot. They allow better gripping with the toes and I think are much better if you actually want to swim. Other 5 Finger models may be close to these 3Ts in terms of thickness of materials.
