The Perdix dive computer from Shearwater search, is a robust dive computer for technical divers of all levels, and ready out of the box for air, nitrox, and trimix gasses. The Perdix is the newest offering from Shearwater, similar in design an operation to the Petrel line of dive computers, but in a smaller form factor. Its simple 2-button interface and easy to navigate menu structure allows for intuitive and quick operation underwater. The Perdix features a large, high resolution LCD screen is both easy to read, and power efficient. The Perdix operates on any AA sized battery, and is user-replaceable in the field with minimal effort. The included digital compass is both accurate and smooth, and Bluetooth integration offers download and upload capability from Mac, PC, and iOS devices. The Perdix may be used for open-circuit and closed circuit-diving, as well as gauge mode if desired The small form factor of the Perdix does not allow for an external connection for rebreather oxygen cell monitoring. Despite this, closed-circuit rebreather divers find the Perdix more than adequate for CCR decompression calculations using a manually entered PO2 setpoint. In closed-circuit mode, the Perdix stores banks of 5 closed-circuit diluent gasses, as well as 5 open-circuit bailout gasses. In open circuit mode, 5 bottom mixes, and 5 decompression gasses may be stored. Gas switching is performed quickly and easily with minimal button pushes. Gasses may be added or edited while underwater – useful for lost gas scenarios. Decompression Algorithm The Shearwater Perdix dive computer features the following modes of operation: OC Rec - 3 gas nitrox recreational computer OC Tec - Multi gas, trimix decompression computer CC INT - Closed circuit fixed PPO2 Gauge - Bottom timer with stopwatch and dive logging
