Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) Great for Outdoor Ponds, Water Features, and Even Freshwater Aquariums (1lb)

The plants arrived in good condition and filled about 1/2 of the pond, and the fish seem to like having them.The plants were very clean and had no snails.I would recommend, however, that people only buy them for aquariums or ponds that get direct sunlight or lots of artificial light. They are not doing very well now after several months because the pond only gets partial sun. We will be moving them into the winter aquarium and see if they can be saved, and if so then that's where they will remain since they don't get the light they need outside.

Ordered two bags of this and while one held enough strands (5"+) to make some bundles the second bag was nothing but chopped up bits and pieces. Total rip-off. Yes, they may eventually grow longer but when I place them in the pond they simply disappear into the pump filter and clog everything up. A week after placing them in the pond there are maybe 25% of the pieces left. Will never order from this company again.

This is a lot of hornwort, and it's at least doubled (probably tripled) in size already since I got it. We had about a week of warm weather and it just started growing like crazy. It's in my goldfish pond - I think the pond will be filled with it in a couple months, and I only bought 1 pack!

Unfortunately my delivery did not look like others posted. There was a strong putrid smell. I don’t know if the shipping was too rough on this or what. It was in a plastic shipping bag, not a box like my other pond plants received. For the $, I’m disappointed. It is like the plant disintegrated. As I wash it, I’m not finding any with length. Just mush.

Have been using Hornwort in our pond for years. 1st time I purchased from this vendor. Lots of snails when it came in, and I don’t know what else.Lost many fish, and the water turned dark. We pulled it out and cleaned the filter. We lost all but 5 of our fish. Water is clearing up and haven’t lost anymore fish in the past few day. Didn’t return just tossed it away. I don’t know if they grow their own or use a vendor. I will order from another company outside of Amazon that grows their own.

I love hornwort from Imperial Tropicals. It comes in fresh and healthy. This is a living ecosystem in plant form. So it adds micro-crustaceans such as fresh water shrimp as well as pond snails and rams horn snails to my aquarium environments that support the fish life as well as the vitality of the tank on a fundamental level. My very large 10 inch goldfish love it as enrichment and diversion. And despite the fact that it is “horned” as the common name suggests, they eat the darn stuff as well as the micro critters. I buy this twice a year to supplement their diet as well as their need to graze 24/7. Plus it Supports filtration and oxygen production while it lasts.

Don't be skeptical about being shipped bits of a plant, like I was in the beginning. Before you know it, they'll grow like crazy and fill your pond.
