SUTTLE APPARATUS 649NV-48 TOOL-LESS SINGLE LINE VDSL2 NID SPLITTER

I ordered the Suttle 649NV-48 on Nov 2 and it was received Nov5. It was very easy to install and fit nicely in the Centurylink NID. So far this is working great. When I first installed it I thought I had received a bad unit. I could not get any linkup on my VDSL modem. Several weeks ago we had run a new cat5e cable from the NID to our Media panel in the house, trying to clean up the noise issues. Turns out we had a bad punch-down in the panel, my bad. So it has done a few things for me; separated the DSL signal from the phones, stablized my DSL connection and help me find a bad wiring job. So far I have not seen a speed increase with this installed. But, the stable connection is my greatest improvement.I plan on posting an update in a few weeks giving my final thoughts.

First of all, it does work and increased my dsl speed. However it only worked for two days, and then I completely lost the voice lines. MY cordless phone base showed line in use, but there was no service. The toolless feature is difficult to use. You must insert the two wires from each circuit into tiny holes in a small toggle. Then the toggle is depressed to force the tiny wires between vertical metal posts. The sharp edges of the posts penetrate the insulation and make the contact. Fine....until you try the next pair! The toggles lift very easily and disconnects everything....and the wires slip out. Start over. You must use fingers to hold the toggles closed while you insert the others. Fumble fingers need not apply. Closing the cover seems to also hold the toggles closed, but I like a much more secure feeling connection. It will handle 3 voice and 1 dsl circuit.The seller was contacted by Amazon, and I requested a replacement, but I got no reply from Phenter sales. I did find a return authorization after searching Amazon, but it looks like I will have to pay the return postage. There has been no offer of a replacement. I'm ordering a different brand from a different merchant. Because of the poor performance and the poor customer service I cannot recommend this item, or the merchant.

Eactly what I needed to filter the DSL line so my phone would stop dropping the internet. The unit I had failed and this was a great replacement.

Works as advertised.

I bought this to replace in my neighbors NIT box. Makes a nice clean install and solved the connection problem she was having.
